Temple last won the AAC regular season title in 2016. When was the last time the Shockers won the AAC?
Get a season under your belt before you consider yourselves league experts.
In any event, the AAC is going to have their hands full with Temple this season.
To put this year's Wichita State team in context, you certainly wouldn't use the AAC as a measuring stick. The top pundits are measuring us against the best in the nation. What happens in the AAC is irrelevant. We've been picked to run away with the title in this conference... anything less would be a major disappointment to those that matter.

if I am not mistaken...Cincy was picked to win the conference...but then again that is the national media picking Cincy...not the Wichita Gazette...

Actually that would be the conference coaches that picked you guys. The vast majority of national media outlets have picked us FWIW. It really doesn't matter. And my lord Temple's defense is trash right now. I hope it's not always like this.

I was worried we were going to have deal with the second coming of Tulsa fans there for a bit. Looks like ODU has put Temple back in their place. Please just get the W and accept your rightful spot of 3rd or worse.

What on earth does 2016 Temple have to do with this year? What did he say that was so out of line that it warranted that kind of insecure response?
Whether WSU is a member of the AAC or not, it doesn’t change the fact that they are a Top 10 team and you don’t need an AAC MD to question about Temple being a title contender 32 minutes into the season.

If you are going to slam southern Ohio....get it right....if you use "Lots" you also need to be plural on "IQ" and use "IQ's"....

Not trying to troll at all but Quinton Rose has some of the worst defense I have ever seen. It's like he isn't even trying. That being said it seems like Temple has weathered ODU's big run, hopefully they can hang on.

I'll take the W, especially because this is Temple's 1st game of the year and they were playing a squad that already played two games. ODU was picked 4th in CUSA so they should be an NIT team. I'll take it!

I was worried I was going to have to declare ODU 2017-18 AAC champs.

Good win, especially for a first game. You will probably have to play better defense against Auburn tomorrow but hopefully this game helped you guys work out any kinks.

Looks like the rest of us are going to have to deal with the first coming of Wichita fans. All powder-fresh and ready for the world.
I can't wait until you guys start getting tired from playing a consistent schedule and start losing to some of the teams around here.
I can't say I won't enjoy that.

Good game Temple. very impressed with the way you came out shooting the ball with this being your first game. Good luck against Auburn and the rest of the season.

Who said we wouldn't lose to AAC teams on occasion? But we are far from powder-fresh. A more apt description would be battle tested. As long as Gregg Marshall is our coach, the AAC will be in fear of the Shockers every time we visit your barn. That's just the way it's gonna be.
