RE: It's funny how people here....
Coaching staff changes take a lot of adjustment in general. Especially for kids so accustomed to the larger-than-life Fleck and the surge of emotion that came with last year's Cotton Bowl run.

I don't have as granular of insight into the program as some. But even though Lester is the "new guy" on the block, he deserves the same respect and effort.

If a handful of upperclassmen who tasted the mountaintop got too jaded, too fast, with our early season struggles, then that's a problem that unfortunately wasn't easily rectified. Factor in that several got a Fleck text that might've made them consider taking off to the B1G stage, only for those thoughts to be snuffed out a day later. Are their hearts 'all in'?

Lester's play calling and sideline motivation skills are fair game for critique. But it's a two-way street.

We don't need a clown doing rowing motions on 3rd down, or racing down the sidelines between quarters, to win games. Develop a QB (which Peej would have had to do) and this team can EASILY win 9 games.

I have more faith in these coordinators than the ones that left with Fleck, and have far more faith in Lester's ability to develop a QB.

So apparently you think pulling a freshmen off the bench to start his first game is equivalent to having 2 QBS with a year or two in the system and a year of late game clean up experience.

So yeah, the difference in 6-9 wins came down to one position.

We were leading 28-14 until the chimps scored 3 unanswered touchdowns ALL IN THE FOURTH QUARTER even "with pulling a freshmen off the bench".

So yeah, your argument is 01-rivals

Pretty sure it's the coaches job to motivate the players...

A lot has been said about Desert Bronco and how divisive he was. In some ways, I guess he was. I got along with him because he was a true fan except for PJ. If someone started a poll that asked who has been a more divisive figure amongst Bronco fans: DB or Hoejkie, the voting might be close. Maybe even surprising.
Both of them have provided some cringe-worthy material here, IMO.

What? The sued comment?

Haha. Nothing that isn't laughably public knowledge with a Google search. Proud day for you all.

texas, so are you saying I'm not a "true fan" because I don't think we're playing at the level we should be playing at this season?

I guess you could call it "divisive" but I call it passion for my Broncos. Sorry you don't see it that way.

Hoekjeness is a genuine poster here. Some don't share his feelings, but he isn't a nut job. DB at one time, many years ago was a decent enough contributor. The guy became off the charts, and still is. He started literally stalking me through Dips Facebook site, and it was the lunatic kind of out of the blue stuff, which caused me unfollow the site, but then he still jumps out now and then. There is no one who will ever touch DB in terms of lunacy and nastiness.

Many folks here dont like the antagonism with how the coaches have done things this year. I share the Hoekjeness view that this team could and should have played far better but for this staff. Others maintain it was Flecks fault, injuries, bad weather, or things beyond Lester's control, and have faith that we will have a great season next year. Time will tell, because Lester is not going anywhere.

What I have always thought revealing though is how folks here too often personally attack the poster when they dont have a logical or supportable response to someones position. Hoekjeness has been here for years, but because he has the audacity to question the coaching, when clearly even the least optimistic poster here would have great reason to be disappointed with the way the season has gone, some here trash the guy. Seasons almost over. I have expressed great concern that we will be stuck in mediocrity while Lester remains. The schedule wont be an excuse next year. It is extremely favorable. I assume we may have some bad weather next year, but hopefully nobody will cite that as a reason for losing, since both teams deal with the same weather. I am sure we will have injuries again, since every team has lots and lots of injuries, and you just deal with it. Next year we will have two QB's with plenty of game experience, good arms, athleticism, and with a head coach who specializes in coaching QB's. And we will have a team who has a complete year plus of working with our current coaching staff's "system". Our HC will have "experience as a head coach".

How bout some predictions on our record next year??

Speaking of which (obviously not in order except for OOC)...

vs. Syracuse
@ Michigan
vs. FCS TBD
@ Georgia State
@ CMU
vs. EMU
vs. NIU
@ Ball State
vs. Toledo
Ohio*
BGSU*
Miami*

* - I think the MAC will do what it's done in the past: Flip out the crossovers with the other three, which we will have a home-and-home with for the next two seasons. 2 of our 3 MAC East games will be on the road.
