But Michigan won the National Championship in September like they always do.

Lovie is the last best hope for Illinois football, they will give him until 2020 to put a winning program on the field. If he can't do it, I do not know anyone who can. If the Illini dont' start winning by 2020, they ought to seriously consider dropping football and investing in an Ice hockey program because Illinois is loaded with talent that has nowhere to play in state.

Wisc -safe
Iowa-safe
Minn-safe
NW-safe
Pur-safe
ILL- safe for now

Mich-safe
MSU-safe
Indy-safe
OSU-safe
PSU-safe
MD-safe

Yup, it checks out. Lovie is safe this year, but he needs to start showing some improvement next year.

It really does look like the Nebraska job is going to be the only one that's open. Indiana might be bowl eligible with a win over Purdue (might be now with APR but I'm to lazy to look it up). Illinois is unlikely to fire Lovie with that buyout and all the youth he has on the team. So, unless somebody comes calling for Brohm or Fleck that is going to be it.

Brohm is certainly a possibility but I'm still not sold on Fleck. I think this years results have taken a bit of the shine off him.

I remember in the preseason the commentators speaking about the "cupboard being far from bare" at Minnesota yet they've pretty much been bad this year. Maybe it's not "row the boat" but "abandon ship".

Time will tell, but in 2 years or so we should see if this guy is legit or if he's a carnival barker.

Hot seat with fans...but maybe not so much with the athletic director. Report saying he's in a discussion for a "lifetime contract".

PJ Fleck just got an extension so he us probably not going anywhere.

Purdue better get one for Brohm otherwise he might be convinced to go elsewhere.
