Is parity bad or good?
A likely 7-5 vs. A 10-2, 9-3 or 8-4 team with a slew of bowl eligibles behind them? Good or bad?

It would look a lot like CUSA and their 8 probable bowl eligibles.

Even though more 7 and 8 win teams means the league is stronger in the middle, I feel like national recognition comes from a top heavy 13-0 WMU type season.

Thoughts?

What was the best MAC year in your recollection? How did the conference look top to bottom? 2003 sounds like it was the best season but I could be making things up in my head. OOC I remember it well.

I don't think you'll get too many people saying this year was a good one for the MAC. What is the best win for the MAC this year, NIU over Nebraska? Honestly, it may be Buffalo over FAU considering the streak they are on. Ohio and CMU murked Kansas but that's Kansas. EMU beat Rutgers but they suck too.

Ohio beating Toledo hurt the conference, but obviously that's Toledo's fault not Ohio's. CMU, NIU, Ohio, Akron, and maybe WMU are all "meh" teams that will finish with 7 or 8 wins but not be very impressive. All of those teams remind me of the Ohio teams of years past, get to 8 wins with a poor OOC schedule and make your season look successful. Not saying the teams this year have a poor OOC schedule, just comparing them to years past.

2003 has to be the best season I can remember. In years past when CMU, NIU, or WMU finished the year ranked, no one else was that good. Maybe in 2012 when KENT went 11-3 and NIU went to the Orange bowl?

Yep. In 2012 Toledo was 7-1 after a win vs. UC to propel them into the top 25 post Buffalo the following week. Toledo then proceeded to lose to a good Ball State and NIU team in weeks after. We lost our bowl team to 12-2? Utah State that ended in the top 20.

Yeah wow, 2012 had 7 bowl teams, 4 teams ranked at one point, and 5 teams who won 9+ games.
