TN- Mullen
Florida- Strong
(South Florida) - Larry Scott
(Oregon State) - Jones
Arkansas - Malzahn
Auburn - Jimbo Fisher
Miss St. -Norvell
Ole Miss - Schiano
Remember that Fisher & Malzahn have the same agent, Jimmy Sexton. Sexton is a master of playing off schools against each other to max the salary offer out. I wouldn't be surprised if he knew Malzahn was moving to Arkansas that he would dangle A&M to bid up Auburn or vice versa.

I think Auburn might well consider Dabo too. In the Auburn mind Dabo has beaten Saban, recruits very well, and runs a version of Mazahn's offense. They also know that Bama would go after him when Saban retires. Bear wanted Bama to go after Pat Dye and Auburn got him first. This is a very similar situation. I think the pocket books would open wide knowing that Dabo with two years under his belt at Auburn when Saban retires would likely tip the balance back to the Eastern half of the State.

I agree that Dabo would be a great get, but would he leave Clemson where he should have a lifetime contract at this point? Easier path to the CFP and all that. Money talks, but so does stability.

For Dabo to leave Clemson, Auburn gonna have to offer him Saban level money to convince him to leave that cushy ACC path to NC’s

The other thing about Clemson's appeal for Dabo: he could go 8-4 the next 5 years in a row and they'd still build a statue in his honor (as long as he doesn't lose 5 in a row to the Gamecocks - that would be a deal-breaker).

Dabo is a Birmingham native and most of his family still lives around there. If he left for Auburn or anywhere else it would be for a tidy sum. We'll see. Besides he's an SEC guy. He's a Bammer to be sure, but an SEC guy by birth, and by Alma Mater. They all come home to Momma sooner or later.

According to Pat Forde....

Florida is moving on from Chip Kelly

...and is expected to start talking to Scott Frost.

Kelly apparently has not taken the UCLA job so there seems to be a question here of whether Florida thinks Kelly is more interested in UCLA or they are simply tired of waiting on him to make up his mind.

I have to say Scott Frost is an interesting candidate too.

My guess is that Kelly is going to say yes to UCLA, but this allows Florida to control the narrative. Instead of "they didn't get their first choice," they are "moving on" from Kelly.

Kelly wins by getting the job he wants.
Florida wins by getting their "first pick" (if Frost comes)

That's probably a good read on it. I just really believe they are going to be much better off without him and can't understand the logic behind pursuing him in the first place. He's way out of his element in the Southeast and the guy doesn't like to personally recruit.

It will be hard for Mullen to pass on the Tennessee job. He knows how to turn bad programs around.

News today is Chip Kelly has signed with UCLA.

Also that Nebraska is going to make a push for Scott Frost.

Why would Frost choose Florida over Nebraska? Doesn't make sense to me.

Oh I don't know, money, ease of access to recruits, relevance, higher profile, more exposure, better funding, upward salary package, stuff like that.

Supposedly Florida offered $6M/yr to Chip Kelley who then decided to take the $4M/yr UCLA job.01-wingedeagle

It’s not always about money.

Yeah... I wouldn't want to work for the Florida administration. What they do to one coach, they'll do to you too.

Kelly knew he had no connections in recruiting in the Southeast, is too nonchalant to be adored by SEC fans and boosters, and that he would actually have to work at Florida.

At UCLA he gets to hob-knob in with celebs in L.A. and play in a conference where 9-3 and 8-4 is cool.

End of story.

He would have been another horrible hire for the Gators and the very fact they showed him interest means their A.D. is an idiot and needs to go.

No. But things are bad enough they might hold their noses for a reprise of Charlie Pell!

DING*DING!

I think a few ADs are off their rockers. The carousel needs to begin there first. I am blown away at some of these hires and rumblings of hires.
