If you are asking me if that (whatever 'that' is) means he is a good shooter, then I would answer that it is too soon this season to tell. I suspect that he will be at or above 30% from 3 by the end of the season, and most likely above.

As someone pointed out, Randy hit 5 of 9 from the 3 point line in the recent exhibition game. In any league, and at any level, that is very strong 3 point shooting in one of only about 4 or 5 games against outside competition that he has played in thus far this season with ODU even if it didn't count in the standings.

Ive never said he cannot improve. Im saying there is no evidence he has so far.

What about the fact that he is shooting 38% through 3 games?

We'v played 2 games....huh?

Edit, are you using practice? Oh my.

NO. You read what you want and disregard what is actually said. Not a first with you.

Gonna have to type slower to explain the 3 games thing.

IMO, stats against D3 teams shouldn't be taken into consideration in this discussion.

I would normally agree, but since part of the argument here has been that he is not a good enough shooter to demand to be guarded, I don't think it matters who he makes them against. Does it matter if it is a D3 team leaving him wide open vs a D1 team leaving him wide open?
Here you go, Giles. This should explain it. I guess you missed it the first time.

True and when one of those guys start posting on this board, you’re argument will have some validity. Unless of course your point was that posters on this board are on the same level as those mentioned because they didn’t play college ball

You don’t know me. Maybe I’m Bobby Knight. I was simply refuting your point that you have to have played college basketball to know anything.

Can we get back to discussing Randy? He has certainly improved his game and I love his aggression, but I really hope he can start knocking down jumpers for us, because he could make us a very good team.

No no no. I'd rather call this thread useless, then derail the aforementioned useless thread further by arguing about who is and isn't allowed to have an opinion on the useless thread based on experience nobody can prove.

Come on coach! It's not like they are a middle school or something. ODU has recently raided teams like that for some much needed inside talent ... Guys like Biberaj (CNU) and Vassor (Hampden-Sydney). I'm just playing with you. I get your point. Randy did still have to make the shots though.

Vassor gave us some very valuable minutes against JMU in our last game. I said coming into this season that Vassor was going to be called upon (as a walk-on) to play some meaningful minutes this season, and it has already happened. It is probably good for him that he is graduating after this season. With the 3 or 4 big guys that ODU is looking to bring in next year who knows how it would have worked out for him if he had another year.

Uhhhh remember when certain posters were ready to declare sam Harris and Anton Larsen all CAA based on practice and one scrimmage, because I sure do.

Look how that turned out. You are what your stats say you are.

We are a mediocre offensive team and a slightly above average defensive team. Literally nothing about that has changed much in 5 years under Jeff. Or for the last 2 decades really. We brought in Blaine Taylor-lite and were promised some different system that never materialized. Some seem fine with it. Stockholm syndrome is a *****.
