Zoran Talley and Iowa State
While I wish he was still with the Monarchs, I wish him well moving forward. Iowa State however is 0-2 with losses to Missouri and UW Milwaukee. Talley had 11 in the loss to Mizzou and 8 points in the loss to Milwaukee. Sounds like his numbers. I think Xavier Green can replace Talley's production and we wont lose much.

Yep. But how cool woukd it have been to have both?

Oh well, we're 2-0 and have yet to play a good, complete game.

If Talley was going to play the 4 almost exclusively, it would have been great to have him. If he was going to eat up minutes that BJ, Haynes, Godwin and Green are getting on the wing, then good riddance.

He graduated from ODU over the summer and is playing for Iowa State as a grad transfer.

I agree that Talley's only contribution would have been at the 4 this season. He didn't have the skillset to take minutes from our true 3s who could do everything he could do and more at the 3.

Doubtful. Talley is a much better player than Haynes and would have started on the wing alongside BJ.

I agree, I believe we'd see Talley in Randy's place. Hence the speculation of Randy coming back once Talley was gone. But Talley broke the rules too many times, and maybe the locker room is better now that he isn't there. I wish him the best, but I am happy to have Randy back.

...and that is why I am glad he is gone.

Talley had no offense outside of 16'. Haynes can spread the floor which opens up space for Stith and Porter.

Exactly. I think Haynes is a better player. He has little to no game experience. As the year goes on he will start hitting those open shots. He is a weapon.

Randy H. also does not disappear for spells during games. Zoran T., talented as he is, had a tendency to do so.

It's really not worth talking about. Talley would have found the floor, we would have had more depth, talent, and production.

He's gone, but it's uninformed to argue we're better without him.

If he played 100% of his minutes at the 3, there's a valid argument that we're better off without him. I don't think anyone is making the argument that we're better off without him if he played significant minutes at the 4 (which he definitely would have this year).

No. It's not. He would be playing, and that would hurt us offensively, unless he was playing the 4, which JJ has proven he would not do with regularity.

I must have missed something. How is he eligible this year?

Is it because he was dismissed from the team?
