Egor's first game
at Florida. 23 points at halftime. Looks like he'll be as big a fan favorite of the Gators as he was here.

RE: Egor's first game
I was just going to post this. Rice University, on the same team, had a kid who drops 23 in a half with Florida and a kid who drew interest from Kansas+Duke when he transferred. What a world.

RE: Egor's first game
I'm rooting for him. I'm rooting for Evans. And I'm rooting for Jackson. Don't know about the others yet. Marcus Jackson unfortunately hurt his hip (don't know how serious) and missed UCSB's first game.

But I'm also not worrying over what could have been. I think the guys we have now are still fun to watch. Georgia State isn't bad - they'll be another solid test tomorrow night.

UCSB plays in College Station Friday night. The Aggies are now #16 after their win in Germany over then #11 West Va.

Egor finishes with 34. Ties Florida record for most points in his 1st game. He sat for most of 2nd half.

RE: Egor's first game
Just like after the last mass exodus, it will certainly be exciting to follow our former players playing for their new teams! Yes, Rice itself hasn't been in the NCAAs in nearly half a century, but hopefully we can get a little bit of vicarious enjoyment watching some of our former hardcourt heroes make it to the Big Dance! Go (ex) Owls!

Does playing as a one year graduate transfer count as pro? Even before shoe money kicks in, it's rather close...

They (Marcus and Egor) graduated. So they are former just like former Rice players in the pros. UF is basically the pros compared to Rice, the talent is probably better than Europe where most of our recent alums have gone.

RE: Egor's first game
Jordan Reed just buried a 3 at the buzzer to tie it up for New Hampshire on the road at Florida. Egor leads the scoring for Florida.

Rice getting some air time after Egor fouled Reed and they got to talk about how they both transferred out of Rice.

Jordan Reed turned into a nice player at UNH. He was pretty horrible here at Rice so didn’t seem like a big loss at the time but he really improved during his redshirt transfer year.

RE: Egor's first game
Egor received significant mention in Sports Illustrated College Basketball preview issue. They rank Florida #11, with Egor listed as the "x-factor" for the team with a nice, little paragraph writeup. The writeup mentioned that the team has already given him the nickname, "3-Gor", but the coach commented he would prefer "D-Gor".
