Cool. Then perhaps they will choose to use UAB's field then. That would certainly free up the BJCC Stadium for more extensive use by our football team.

I just found this BBJ article written after the board approved that expansion, and noticed this quote:

Quote:"This announcement is a pivotal one for both UAB and the city of Birmingham and should be celebrated by the entire local soccer community," said Morgan Copes, vice president of USL Birmingham. "While a stadium of this size and location would certainly work well for USL Birmingham, a decision on our professional team’s field of play is yet to be finalized. We will make a formal announcement on our ultimate stadium plans in the near future."

They seem to be leaving the door open to use any potential BJCC facility. Hopefully that doesn't leave UAB with egg on its face after getting approval to expand the soccer facilities based on lease agreements that weren't actually in place yet.

The project is dependent upon executing the lease agreement. Part of the approvals they got was to sign the lease (contract is over the limit that requires board approval)

Good. That article made it seem like we were getting ahead of ourselves and lied to the board. I was worried about how that might turn out.

A quick question are we getting an usl team or usl d3 it's minor league? Currently watch Swoop City vs Louisville just to get an idea of what to expect.

The new tax bill, by some coincidence, does not kill tax breaks for golf course owners.
