Didn't do CUSA many favors — FIU doesn't get a bye despite being undefeated until the conference tournament (I presume they're hosting, though the NCAA site doesn't say yet), and no Charlotte despite a 32 RPI and trip to the CUSA final.

The tourney was very ACC heavy. ODU's opponent NC State doesn't have a great record, and worse, a RPI of only 45. Virginia Tech got in with a 9-9 record (although their RPI is 22). It's an uphill battle for us, and sadly the rest of the conference didn't do enough this year to put more teams in.

From the picture there looks to be about as many soccer fans as football. Is soccer big at FIU?

They're in Miami with a large Hispanic population so i'm going to go with Yes.

Wow definitely looks like more people attend FIU soccer than football....You should have doubleheaders, play soccer after football so at least you have a crowd for 4th quarter in football game...

Just like everyone else they like winners. I also think it helps that they don't have all day to get blitzed before the game.

Winning....sustained winning...makes people want to show up. 13 years out of 15 year of losing in a sport makes it hard to bring in the casual fans. FIU Soccer is slowly back into the national picture, and people suddenly decide to attend.
