Fine, then White. UNT is going to be strong the next couple of years.

Fine is a few yards behind White, but he has 5 more TDs. Also, Fine has won more games than White has (he took a last minute blast against UTSA to win UNT that game.) AJ is a good QB, but I feel he is getting more consideration than he deserves simply because it is UAB’s first season back. You also have to consider the offense these guys are in. UNT is air raid by pretty much name only. Average around 300 yards passing and around 100 yards rushing per game. It’s been a fairly balanced offensive attack. If the staff wanted to they could shift to a much heavier passing attack and then the stats wouldn’t even be close. WKU is only passing (last week they had something like 19 attempts for 36 yards), so White’s stats should be higher. AJ’s system is rushing based so he should have a good TD:INT ratio because that’s what they need him to do. He needs to be a game manager, not a game winner.

Yeah, that whole leading the league in touchdowns is totally misleading.

And 300/100 is not a balanced offense. That is pretty much definition air raid. Balanced is like 225/175 or around there.

My bad, I was going off of memory. The actual stats are 191.6 Rush YPG & 284.6 Pass YPG. So that’s roughly 200:300

Those are both strong picks but I personally think it comes down to either Dwone Hicks or Brad Kadlubar, our punter in the 2001 game.

Strong as well, but that punter played for a losing 5-7 team, so I don't think he'd get the nod

Are you sure? He did get to a bowl game.

I agree with this statement. Dalton is the best healthy qb in this conference in 2017.

There is nothing that can logically support Brent Stockstill being a better QB than Mike White except "I'm an MTSU fan and like him."

Except the fact that he’s brittle. That is a factor. Being able to play is a very important factor in the game of football. That most often favors the bigger and stronger. White’s bigger and stronger.

I’m willing to concede Stock is best in the conference at wearing a sling and holding a clipboard for half the season.

04-cheers

RE: Top CUSA QB?
And for all the talk of Mike White's regression his senior year being due to coaching, people forget that Brent was saddled with Buster ******* Faulkner his freshmen year and put up better numbers than White will this year unless White manages to throw for ~1,000 more yards, at least 13 more TDs and no more than 2 more picks...

Which criteria does one use to determine QB quality?

Onfield performance adjusted for the quality of their supporting cast and of their opponents.

Wins don't do the trick. Gross oversimplification.

RE: Top CUSA QB?
I understand, but what stats take primacy? For example, one would immediately point to passing yardage, TDs, INTs. What about escapability or mobility, in general? What about rushing yards? What about completion percentage? What about fumbles (or lack thereof)? What about intangibles?

Ultimately, doesn't it become a popularity contest?

RE: Top CUSA QB?
Amazing these MTSU fans latching on to Injuredstill....The guy has been hurt now for most of 2 seasons, how can anyone say he's better than White? You have to be on the field every game to qualify if we are comparing the two....Bottom line White is available to play every game and Stockhurt is not...

Side note I don't care what happens Friday night, StockHurt probably will light us up like a Christmas tree but it doesn't matter if you are comparing the two 2 QB's....

RE: Top CUSA QB?
I think it depends on if the criteria is "Best QB in CUSA THIS YEAR" or "Best QB in CUSA currently playing over their career"...

This year - White
Overall - Stockstill
