I've watched it off and on. From what I've seen, I like the defensive effort. Also,even though the stats don't reflect it, the team really was boxing out for rebounds.

The offense,however, consists of either McLean or Stuckey creating their own shot or somebody jacking up a three with no regard. That has to change and quickly.

streaming: first half was ok but pixelated. 2nd half was mostly buffering. Chromecast on Comcast in Hburg.

Blown out at home by a good, but not great ODU team.
That was a clunky game which is to be expected in early season college basketball. ODU found their offense in the second half and JMU never did.

The 3 pointers was something I was looking for tonight from JMU. Did ya'll do that in your previous game as well? With our length I am expecting more teams to take their chances on the deep ball vs trying to penetrate "the wall" as Jones calls it.

Surprisingly I was able to watch the first 15 minutes of the game online without any problems and that was from 25k in the air. But then Delta's wifi crapped out and once it rebooted I couldn't get it to work again, so I can't blame stretch tonight.

It's waaaaayyyy too early to know. So any new players and so much youth. Tonight was expected, if not by Vegas.

So I guess we have our rotation- Pinkard and Wilson didn't get any run. I'm surprised they didn't go to Wilson just for the big body. Phillips got man handed inside. Lewis and Jacobs appear to be the most impressive Freshmen early on. Jacobs should crack the starting lineup (in place of Scissum) in the Bahamas. The Dukes took care of the ball ok and created some turnovers but were handled inside, shot terribly, and Stith was too much for them to account for.

The JMU crowd was down right embarrassing. Looks like a 1-9 Rice home football game. No way you need a new basketball arena with support like that.

They do have a lot to work on. Won't turn around overnight. they need to start winning well.

Kind of hurts to admit that ODU can no longer bring fans out at visiting schools doesn't it ?

kind of forgot ODU had an athletic program down there at the beach until I saw this game on the schedule.

In all seriousness, what was the deal with the poor attendance? I've never seen a JMU game that poorly attended, and this was (more or less) you're home opener against an in-state rival? Where were the students?

Football hangover? Something else?

I was at the game last night. The game was basically our season opener against an old rival and the crowd size was disappointing. I don't know how we are going to fill the new arena in a couple of years. The good thing is this freshmen class will be savy seniors when the new Convo opens so helpfully the team will be exciting.

Do most of the fans sit on the opposite side of the court from the benches? The stream showed the benches, but I feel like before the game started, you could see that the side from which they were shooting the video had better attendance.

20+ years of terrible basketball. Most students weren't there when JMU and ODU were rivals so it just seems like another team coming to town.
