RE: 11/12 Bowl projections
Miami of Ohio just got upset by EMU so now they are eliminated. That's another spot that just opened up. Buffalo should beat Ball St but should lose to Ohio. If they do, that will be 5-7 for them. That's 6 gone for the MAC.
I need The ACC, Big10 and the SEC to produce for me on Saturday and I think they will. Go UAB, Mizzou and LSU!
If that all happens, Every CUSA that makes it should have a spot. My plan is coming together thus far Muhahahahahaha!

RE: 11/12 Bowl projections
If I read this right:
CUSA - Projection 8
Already eligible (6) - UNT, UAB, USM, FAU, FIU, Marshall
UTSA - Needs 1 from (Marshall, @LaTech).
WKU - Needs 1 from (MTSU, @FIU).
MTSU - Needs 1 from (@WKU, ODU)
LaTech - Needs 2 from (@UTEP, UTSA)
ODU - Needs 2 from (Rice, @MTSU)
WKU vs. MTSU : Winner bowls...
and if WKU beats MTSU and ODU beats Rice: ODU vs. MTSU = Winner bowls, loser out
UTSA vs. Marshall: UTSA wins they go bowling;
But if Marshall beats UTSA and LaTech beats UTEP: La Tech vs. UTSA = Winner bowls, loser out.
(if there aren't any 5-7's allowed from CUSA)
So best case bowling scenario
UTSA def. Marshall ....... loses to La Tech
MTSU def. WKU ...... loses to ODU
La Tech def. UTEP ........ def. UTSA
ODU def. Rice ........ def.MTSU
WKU l. MTSU ....... def. FIU
That's not to say everyone gets invited.. but that's the best chance to get to that magical "6" win number for everyone (except of course, Rice, UTEP, and Charlotte)

The logic here is if MT beats WKU this weekend, WKU beats FIU next and ODU wins out by beating Rice and MT, all three are bowl eligible. If WKU wins this weekend, only 2 of the three can get to 6 wins.

Ok didn't realize that, selfish reasons WKU needs to win Friday night or I doubt we go bowling which would be really disappointing.....

Quote:But will there be national exposition?
Not really. Boca Bowl kicks off on 7 PM on a Tuesday.
Quote:
Will there be a full stadium?
Yes, but I'm not looking for a game that's easy for the casual that hasn't been to a game before this year, to go to.
Quote: Will there be a pile of local and national sponsors?
That goes with any bowl game, but the St. Pete Bowl has a higher payout than the Boca Bowl.
Quote:Will there be a great benefit to local economy?
No, because no FAU fans would be using any of the hotels in the area, nor would we be more willing to go out or tailgate because we'd be stuck at work.

I dont know how many times this needs to be said the Boca Raton and most of it's sponsors who are hotels do not want a home team. The resorts want 10k people to come fly in from clod cities whenever you see this in a prediction it is someone who is not familiar with the bowl.
I know you guys are new to this whole bowl thing, but the bowl games that have figured this out have learned that best match-up + bigger attendance is most important. It's the reason why ULL is in the N.O. Bowl every year (and it works). The bowl committee makes its money off game ticket sales and concessions not hotel stays (and hotels aren't always sponsors of bowls). Even when they are it's a fraction of their sponsorship dollars. What most sponsors want is a full stadium and decent TV ratings. Besides, G5 schools don't bring 10K and that's why lower tier bowls have adjusted their model. You might as well prepare yourself for a home game in December.
Normally, I ignore you.
This is 100% accurate. Since CUSA 3.0, the conference has sent an east team to a western bowl exactly ONCE (MTSU in 2013) with Hawaii being the obvious exception because it's close to no one.

RE: 11/12 Bowl projections
Have to believe that all of the FL bowls and Bahamas bowl would covet FAU. FIU will play nearby as well. Selfishly hope USM lands in one of these bowls.
USM has done HoD and N.O. bowls the last 2 years. Indy bowl has good history with USM and La Tech and might have a good matchup.
We'll see.
