RE: Elon Game Thread
If my figuring is correct, today was the only game this season where our defense did not get a turnover. Well, I guess a blocked punt is a turnover by our special teams. So, let me re-phrase...no INT's or fumble recoveries by our defense for the only time this season.

Shout out to JMU and its winning streak on ESPN U (NC State vs. Wake). They said we beat Elon 17-3. lol. But had the 23 streak correct. Still cool. Good press and a few comments after the graphic. Dukes!!

That was awesome. It looked like they were setting it up for MH then our HC moved away yet they continued the pursuit. Me not realizing all along they were after Trott. Clearly he has more than simple respect from his players.

It seems like the Richmond game gave new life to the JMU offense.....was surprised by the score of the game.

We open the game up with two quick passes. While they were little more than what a basic run would yield, that was nice to see.

RE: Elon Game Thread
Was at the game with the wife and 2 daughters. Great game by the Dukes, what else can be said. One thing that became very apparent is that Harry O'Kelly and the punt team are a major weapon for the Dukes. They punted 6 times yesterday and Harry and the punt team pinned Elon at the 5 at least 3 times. What a way to put the other team in a bad situation. The punt team has done this all year long. THis can be a major impact in games going forward!! Great turnout by the JMU fans. The entire visitors side was Purple, think there were more purple fans than Elon fans. Could also have done without the dancing tutu show at halftime!!

Coming into the stadium we met Bryan Schors parents and mentioned that my younger daughter wanted to get his autograph on her#17 jersey. They were so nice and told us to met them after the game and they would get Bryan to sign the jersey. We met up with them after the game and Bryan was so gracious and nice and signed the jersey. Many thanks to Bryan and his parents for taking time to talk with us and autograph the jersey.

Also congratulated a number of the Dukes players after the game, all were extremely polite and took time to talk to us. Said to John Miller that he needed to start making a fair catch or two and he laughed and said he was thinking of doing that!!!!

Great game overall and waiting for the selection show today after which we will head to the Convo for the WBB game.

Hope to see everyone at BFS in 2 weeks!!

Go Dukes!!

ROOTIN!!

Brian

Very tired after the ride back from Elon!!

The OL has been playing with injured players all year and I think what is really happening is that they are finally getting a bit healthier. Having the Bye will give them 2 weeks to heal some more.

This is definitely the case. What we saw yesterday was an OL starting to gel again and thats a scary thought

Yeah my daughter posted a picture on FB. She is one very happy camper. Major kudos to Bryan and his parents, what genuinely nice and accommodating people. Great representatives of JMU Nation!!

I didn’t read through this whole thread but I felt that our o line play was noticeably better against Elon. Schor had all day to stand in the pocket and pass. Our RB running game wasn’t as solid as I would’ve liked, at least in terms of huge plays. I’m not sure if that’s due to the o line or are the backs just not finding and hitting holes fast enough before LBs come in. Khalid really spoiled us last year with his explosiveness and ability to make a play.

RE: Elon Game Thread
he had all day to throw because Elon plays a 3-3-5 and, strangely, chose not to bring anyone else on passing downs.

they rushed only 3 nearly the whole game

Yeah I don’t think they made many serious attempts to get pressure on schor. That’s fine. Let our all American qb stand there and pick you apart.
