I always laugh inside at the message board experts that ignore the opinion/rankings of numerous recruiting services, people that are paid to analyze basketball, and coaches. When you have ZERO Top 150 players and a bunch of 1st year JUCOs that sign with you, a sub 100 NCAA team, instead of a competitive program, it is ridiculous to expect an over the hill coach to "coach up" their lack of talent.
We have the players we have because NO ONE ELSE wanted them. We have a coach that NO ONE ELSE wants. Do you think Texas Tech would trade us Chris Beard for Tubby? Just saying.
