Tubby, what have you done
to our beloved tigers? That was piss poor and we want to know why you're worth $3,000,000??????? That really sucked and the players deserve more. We looked liked UTEP, ECU, Tulane, Liberty, Alabama A&M...please explain.

That’s the level of talent we have. Stammers did a pretty solid breakdown that showed our talent was rated near Tulane’s.

RE: Tubby, what have you done
We could've had Forbes or a host of other young, hungry coaches who were willing to do what it took to recruit good talent for 1/3 the price

I blame the idiots in charge of hiring

That’s the level of talent we have. Stammers did a pretty solid breakdown that showed our talent was rated near Tulane’s.

TULANE Top 7 Composite Average: 8731
9056 Sehic
8774 Frazier
8770 Cornish
8710 Ajang
8648 Slater
8600 Koka
8561 Embo
UR Conroy, Reynolds, Daniels, Reyes, Paul, Barrett

MEMPHIS Top 7 Composite Average: 8834
9100 Davenport
9039 Johnson
8900 Brewton
8770 Nickelberry
8710 Parks
8700 Thornton
8616 Enoh
8600 Rivers
8400 Rhodes
8162 Martin

So there is really very little difference between the players on Tulane's roster and the players on our roster, except that we may have a bit more depth. It can be argued that since we only have 2 players returning, that Tulane will be better because they are more experienced.

One other thing. For those of you who are even thinking of trying to say that Martin has a rating of 8162 and he is our leading scorer, and him and Rivers make us much better...that isn't going to work either. Tulane has a senior who was unranked, Cam Reynolds, that averaged 17 points per game last year.

I don't think you'll find any argument tonight, lol

Basically tubby smith was a flat out bad hire but that wasn't the shocker to me,it was making him the highest paid coach in tiger history.

The reality is we do not have high level talent, experience playing with each other, experience playing at D-1 level, and proven outside shooting. However, assuming Tubby can keep the team together (not a given based on last year), it makes sense we will improve during the year with additional experience.

I'd hire you and give the football coach the remainder of the money if I could.

RE: Tubby, what have you done
We had high level talent and a pipeline to even more top players, but apparently the stress of dealing with the parties involved was too much, although for $3M/year you'd think maybe one could have stood the stress, but, nevertheless, we ran them off. Now we'll have that scrappy little team that listens to its coach and occasionally wins a moral victory. It won't be the level of play we'd become accustomed to, but it will have to do for the next 3 or 4 years. GTG

Why dont we have D-1 talent? Why is there no outside shooting? Markel looked like king james against this pile of crap. Oh yeah, why dont we have experience?

Tubby inherited top 100 players and lost them all. The 3 million dollar man cannot recruit at a high level despite the promise of a state of the art facility, playing in an NBA arena with the support (to their credit) of the NBA team, strong fan support (when we are decent), great local media coverage, and location in a talent hotbed. The infrastructure is in place for success.

I can agree. It's no better.

Last year I thought they looked better until it came unraveled in the end due to the lawsons which was a leftover problem of the joshie era.

Imo, the damage was done by josh and those in charge that kept him way too long. The u of m even misled fans which is never good. They thought it was be easy to get back to where we were. They are saving money on this bad contract to make it into the big 12 they said.

We don't look any different than we have the last few years.

A nobody mid major .
