Long time
It's a long time until Spring football........it's been a long time since neither football or basketball was very good in the same year but we might find out what it's like this year.......I know, I know it's only one game but these are the games you have to win to have a decent year......and getting to play these teams at home with a nice crowd......all those young people at the game to get their interest in Tulsa sports......I guess that was a bust. It's a heck of an opportunity missed.

RE: Long time
This sports administration frivolously lost whatever advantage it once had that had been laboriously developed by past administrations. Once momentum is lost its difficult to regain. Both football and basketball are in trouble, serious trouble. The current situation is not sustainable economically. Time for a new AD. The sports administration tree at the top needs to be shaken hard. Otherwise see mediocrity set in hard. Want to see TU at the bottom of the AAC year after year. Guess what its already happening.

RE: Long time
A big part of the problem Tulsa is having with programs on a downward trend and ticket sales drop starts with the AD position. It all starts there. Policy's are started and enforced there. It affects everything in the sports program, everything. People tell me Tulsa isn't a great sports town for ticket sales. Their right its not great. But that isn't the problem with Tulsa's tickets sales trending downward with no up tick in sight and it doens't seem to matter how good the sports product is.
Tulsa's current ticket sales woes didn't start until the current ticket policy's, prices, and fees structure was put in place. Tulsa used to have sellouts at the Reynold's Center. But that was before the current pricing, and fees structure was put in place. To make TU's current ticket pricing and fees work you must be having sellouts with a waiting list. Tulsa has neither of those. TU is a complete non-compete when it comes to competing with the local entertainment ticket venues.
Tulsa being non-competitive with its ticket sales policy's also affects how the sports programs recruit. Tulsa sports programs haven't played before full houses of fans since the current ticket policy's were put in place. It puts all of the sports programs at a disadvantage when it comes to recruiting because recruits want to play before full houses of fans. The coaches can't come out and say this because it would put them on the bad side of the AD. So it comes back to the AD.
