Traffic To/From BB&T Arena
I'm not a complainer by nature. Restrooms and concession at Nippert? I've never had an issue. Parking and traffic in Clifton? Again, no concerns.

The traffic into and out of NKU is brutal. And we haven't had a game with even 7K yet. I'll be exploring other entry and parking options, for sure, but I can't fathom how much worse it's gonna get with the season nearly sold out. Add in rush hour on weekdays and it'll be unbelievable.

If NKU and UC can't partner with the sheriff' office or highway patrol, then that's sad. There's no reason someone can't manually override the traffic lights, at least.

Sorry, rant over. I feel better now. But I'm worried for the rest of the season.

Then don't go. Or get there early. Or leave early or leave late.Problem solved.

I understand complaining but complain about things that can be fixed.

This is the equivalent of sleeping on the foldout guest bed for four months.

I might get to Barleycorn's a couple hours before tipoff and take their free shuttle next time. The traffic situation so far had been ludicrous.

That's fair, to an extent. Not going isn't an option; I've barely missed a home game since 2005. I'm worried that leaving work at 5:30 won't get me there by 7 on a weekday.

Part of this thread's purpose was hoping others would share any tips they've discovered so far. Or maybe someone familiar with the NKU area (I'm not) would chime in.

I got caught in it too coming north on 27 from hunting today. It was backed up for 2 miles. It's going to get worse before gets better there's really not that much of a fix sonolan accordingly.

It is the trade off for our school getting a sweetheart deal to use a very nice facility versus that tomb downtown at a much larger expense.

Not going unfortunately will be a solution. Sorry folks don't have 4 hours for a basketball game.

Is taking 275 east from suburbs better than 71 South to 471?

I hear ya.

I'm not up to speed on the ins and outs of traffic law (which admittedly is a huge hole in my legal resume), but my guess is that the reason they do not have a Highland Heights PD or a Campbell County Sheriff directing traffic at the main light is that US 27 is an interstate highway and my guess is that it is frowned upon.

Yup. It took 40 minutes to get from the exit to the parking lot for a noon game on a weekday against a nobody. Games after work are going to be a disaster.

I came in the back way from 275 coming from the west side. Was not bad but they force you to park in the very back lot by the student housing. Which can be good I guess because you don't have far to go to get back out. Was a long walk to the area and back to the car.

I watched the game on ESPN3 from my home in Virginia. Noticed that the crowd was VERY late arriving and was wondering if the traffic situation was the problem. 7pm weekday games will be a major issue unless the NKY local officials can come up with some traffic relief ideas.

Arrived at 10:30. Had a nice breakfast/lunch at Norse Commons. Stayed for whole game and was on 275 fifteen minutes afterwards.

Why do Cincinnatians whine and moan about everything?

Traffic can bottleneck getting right off the exit from 471 if that's the way you are going. I shouldn't say this, because I don't want to add any traffic for me, but coming in from 275 going E, and getting off at Nunn Drive exit is better. Also going up Johns Hill Rd from AA highway.

RE: Traffic To/From BB&T Arena
Also not traffic related but everyone should know about the concessions. The one I was at the 2 center lanes are CASH ONLY the 2 outer lanes you can use credit. They do not post this anywhere so be warned a few people stood in line for a long time only to have to move to another lane. Plus they need to see about getting the game on some of the tv's by the concessions we ended up missing the first 7 minutes of the second half would have been nice if they had the game up.

It would be nice if they could open up some mobile concession stands as well. The concessions at half time were insane. I guess these are all 1st world country problems lol.

Winner winner. Yep, avoiding that 471 traffic light is the key.

At that game at Butler last season, waited 10 minutes for a water.

I picked up my kids from school about 10 miles south on 27. 27 north was backed up for miles so at 3:30 so I took the AA back to 275. I've never seen it backed up like that. I was also surprised that they had no police running the lights.
