And we still talk about how we're reeling the effects of Elloss from 2012...it only took UCF 2 freaking years to completely turn around their 0-12. Seems like we're still sitting around with our thumbs up our jacksies. I just don't get how we consistently get blown by every school that ever comes through CUSA. It's happening right now with North Texas and the F_U's. Next it'll be UTSA, ODU, and Charlotte. I guess it's nice having an athletic administration that has a vision and knows what the hell it's doing.

Comparing Southern Miss to Central Florida is apples to oranges.

Central Florida, which sits in the middle of some of the most fertile recruiting grounds in the country, has an enrollment of over 60k students and an athletic budget of over $60 Million! When they needed a coach, they went out and hired one of the hottest coordinators in the country, Scott Frost from Oregon and paid him over $1.7 Million dollars per year.

Our budget is less than half theirs and our enrollment is less than 15K. When we needed a new coach, we went out and hired a SWAC coach that literally no other D1 school had any interest in. He pay him $500k per year, which is the lowest in CUSA.

TLDR: Weez Poo
Cliff Notes: You get what you pay for.

We still always kicked their ass in C-USA. They lucked out with a good hire.

It wasn't luck. Look at UCF. Look at the F_Us. Look at NT. What do they have in common? They paid high dollar for a coach and it's paying off. As Bleacher said, you get what you pay for. Now Hopson may be the best thing since sliced bread and we just need a competent QB to really get things rolling (we really have been blessed with Davis and Mullens for 8 years), but until then, we're getting what 500k gets you. Heck, we even paid Fedora 1 million a year. We desperately need to reinvigorate our fanbase. Winning will do that.

I had a dream the other night (no seriously I did for whatever reason) that we had hired Monken back as HC and Hop had agreed to be the DC. We were rolling through this crap conference like we should be and were getting some national attention.... Sadly I woke to reality
