Hit Thompson in the post, who kicked it back to him, and then found Harris in the corner instead of taking his own shot. Point guard stuff.

Thx Sam. I couldn't make game today. Two things we need a passer and a maker.

From what I saw in the 1st half, he was playing a bit too fast. He tried pushing the ball a few times when he shouldn't have, and rushed a 3-point attempt. He's a tremendous ball-handler, and seemed aggressive on defense. I think he will be fine.

McAdoo looked good off of the ball. Quick first step, and played in control. Somewhat goofy form on his shot, but he made more than he missed. He bulked up in the offseason, but he still needs to add a bit more weight.

Groce was the standout for the freshmen though. He's a jack of all trades, and already looks solid on the wing of the zone (6 steals!). Smooth shot, deft passing, impressive athletic ability...he looks like he's going to be a good one, and definitely a major contributor this year.

i didn't notice much from him besides him moving the ball well. McAdoo stuck out more to me between the two. he seemed crafty.

Even though Bond didn't have a great game and JT4 didn't have a big game, I thought the EMU front court was talented, deep, etc.

Most MAC teams are not going to want to play against Minnie, JT4, Bond, Groce, Nobles, and a couple newcomers. We can go SIX deep up front.

What was neat is that Murphy had all FIVE players I named on campus last year. Talking about having the cupboard full.

Dear Sam,

Thx for the feedback.

RE: Game Day: Spring Arbor
Hope I'm not repeating if it has been already posted.

Chad nailed it. Groce can play the 3. He can shoot the 3. Need to get major minutes. Plenty of opportunity for Bond to play PG, behind P.J. so Groce can get more minutes at SF.

The one who'd get hurt is Ellison who might have trouble getting minutes at PG. McAdoo, OTOH, can get minutes at SG.

In other words, Bond/Groce creates a log jam at SF for PT. Jackson/Bond would create a logjam at PG.

RE: Game Day: Spring Arbor
I like that, Steve. If Jackson is on the bench, a lineup of Bond, Harris, Groce, Minnie, Thompson is like a Murphy wet dream defensively. No one shorter than 6'5, and all are athletic.

You're right about the front court depth, too. I'm just curious to see who gets major minutes in the middle when Thompson is in foul trouble. Can Green hold his own against D1 centers? Is Bud Jones ready for the physicality of college basketball? That's probably our biggest question mark. It will be interesting to see how that develops. We look solid everywhere else.
