Why does your admin agree to play these mid-week games, when the money is not substantial? It is sad to see the Stadium empty. But, I would not go to a game on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday night either, so I get it.

It was a MAC deal, so NIU only had one vote out of twelve. Most Huskie fans hate this deal.

Agree it was a terrible deal.

The current wind chill in DeKalb is 12 degrees. Yes, the scheduling is awful, but, the weather is also horrendous.

It is rarely nice at night in November.

Yes, we will be in FCS at this rate by the time the deal expires. I’d say we have 3-6 years to get out of the MAC before all is lost.

My favorite roadtrip of the season was seeing Akron/Toledo and then at halftime driving 25 minutes down the road for all of NIU/BG. 2 games in daylight in 65-70 degree weather. Literally perfect.

That was the last Saturday of MAC football for the year. Heaven compared to 15 degree weeknight hell.

Easy side wasn’t bad either. Wind was thankfully blocked for the most part. Did anybody get one of the NIU winter hats that were being goven out? They looked cool.

Agree.
NIU gets 3rd and 4th rate TV sports stations for the cost of Saturday games where thousands of people will actually show up.
At first I believed it was a good idea, certainly in the Novak era.
After so many years, it seems that the costs have exceeded the benefits.

Yep, was rocking the New York Jets Starter jacket from 1997...still the warmest coat I can find. I was at approximately the 15 yard line and I think by the end of the game there were 5 total people in my section and the section to my right closest to the Yordan Center. Still didnt catch a damn Mission T-shirt though :(

When these mid-week games started it was "cool" and "unique". And it was a bid deal to be on ESPN. And the students came out to tailgate and be on ESPN.

Times were typically 7PM with the occasional 8pm (which one can argue 8pm is worse than 6pm for getting home late and working the next day.)

Having that 3rd mid-week game in October is just brutal. And then having them ALL at 6pm is just a

I think we can try to pressure our presidents to demand the MAC office to renegotiate (limit to 2 MACtion weeks) before we think of that move.
