MyBB Opening Day
As a newcomer, not entirely sure how bball game threads are done around here but I figured with the behemoth matchups on opening day, they can all share the same thread.

Friday, November 10th
All times eastern (this will take some getting used to)

12 PM
Savannah State @ #12 Cincinnati
ESPN3

1 PM
Lamar @ Tulsa

6:30 PM
Memphis v Alabama in Annapolis, MD
CBSSN

7 PM
Colgate @ Connecticut
ESPN3

8 PM
Mercer @ UCF
ESPN3

8 PM
Florida Atlantic @ USF
ESPN3

8 PM
McNeese State @ Houston
ESPN3

8 PM
Maryland-Baltimore County @ SMU
ESPN3

8 PM
Long Island @ Tulane
ESPN3

8 PM
UMKC @ #7 Wichita State
ESPN3

Thoughts:
1. Why are Cincy and Tulsa playing during the day on a weekday?

2. Why isn't Tulsa on ESPN3?

3. Surely anything except for 9-1 (Memphis) would be a huge disappointment.

Some people are off for Veteran's day (which is actually Saturday the 11th).

Cincinnati is playing at noon because they are sharing NKU's arena during the renovation. NKU has the night game slot on Friday, and I believe this is the only time both of them are playing on the same day.

Better than a chance now. Besides the 5-star freshman you mentioned, who is ineligible, their best returning scorer is out with an injury, and their best 3-point shooter is doubtful.

And we played much better in our exhibition than most thought, given we have 2 returning players on the entire team.

I actually think we might win now. At worst, it should be closely competitive.

You picking Lamar over Tulsa, thats just harsh bro. . .

I expect a 10-0 opening. The conference needs good showings in the holiday tournaments to really make noise this year.

You know I'm just playing wit you bro. I do feel like we may have 1 slip-up or a near-slip-up.

Hey goofball, your reading comprehension on this subject is awful. It was "marquee games for your team," not national marquee games .

Otherwise, the only teams that would count would be Duke, UK, Kansas, UNC, etc., and there would likely be no list here at all. Or extremely short.

But that wasn't the question.

In our situation, ANY ranked team is a marguee game for us this year. And Bama is ranked.

Of course, as soon as we beat Bama, who is depleted by the loss of their 3 best players in the last few days, then they won't be ranked any more, lol.

I think I hear your shift supervisor at Dairy Whip telling you to get back to work!

RE: Opening Day
For the Tulsa game, they've invited a TON of local area school children to come to the game. There was some donor that paid for transportation and an open invitation was put out. Most of the Tulsa die hards agree that it's going to be a good way to introduce the school to an age demographic that can be heavily influenced and it could pay dividends in years going forward.

I can NOT speak to why it's not on some sort of streaming site beyond Tulsa's pay-per-view distributor. That's actually going to be the case for the first few games in all actuality.

Didn't ESPN also not televise a bunch of Tulsa football games?

Plus with a home football game at 7pm vs Temple , this is ideal for the fans attending both . Going straight to football tailgating after UC romps Savannah State 04-cheers
