Could an Asian version of the ACCN work?
A thread on the P5 board got me to thinking (always dangerous!).

Asia has more than half the worlds population and a growing interest in US style sports. Baseball in Japan, basketball in China...

There is no brand loyalty. The time is right to get the ACC brands out there.

The time zones are favorable. There is time to edit a game down to a length that would make them more appealing.

There would be some limited competition from live games from the west coast. I just don't think Asians are ready for a 4 hour football game.

The ACC should at least investigate the market for basketball and baseball, IMO.

Why would Asians want to watch US college sports? If they want to watch US sports, wouldn't they strongly prefer US pro sports? BTW, there's an ESPN channel for Asia. Also, there's Fox Sports Asia. They may already broadcast some US college games.

And why are the time zones favorable?

When you are selling something, and you have a paying customer, don't try to figure out why... just take their money!

Not saying they would buy, just saying IF... but Asians have been known to buy up all kinds of American products and entertainment that we in the States wouldn't even pay for, so...

Why does anybody want to watch US college sports?

I don't know what they prefer. US college sports competes with US pro sports here. Shouldn't it be able to compete there?
