Dim congressman walks out of moment of silence for TX victims
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2017/11/...ctims.html

Quote:A junior Democratic congressman walked out of a moment of silence Monday night for victims of this weekend's mass shooting at a Texas church.

In a video posted to Facebook Monday evening, California Rep. Ted Lieu said that he would not join his colleagues who were observing the moment of silence in the chambers of the House of Representatives.

"I can’t do this again; I’ve been to too many moments of silences," Lieu said in the video. "In just my short period in Congress, three of the worst mass shootings in U.S. history have occurred. I will not be silent.”

"I urge us to pass reasonable gun safety legislation, including a universal background check law supported by 80 percent of Americans, a ban on assault rifles and a ban on bump stocks,” Lieu added.

So because of this shooting he wants to pass laws that:

A. wouldn't have stopped this shooting nor most of the others as the shooters either passed a background check or circumvented the process altogether via stolen weapons and/or straw purchases

B. have no tangible effect on gun safety. As has been shown you don't need a bump stock to accomplish what a bump stock does. Is he also going to ban boards and dowels or belt loops?

It's nonsensical.

And hoplophpbe leftists wonder why we mock you when you talk gun control.

Wonder if this will be another California politician that squawks about gun control and then gets arrested for gun running?

Sick phucks just dont know when to shut up. He will walk out on the families to promote his gun control religion.

Its been a bad week for the gun control libturds. The church massacre was ended when a civilian with an AR-15 engaged the shooter, and shot him at least twice. Thats when the killing stopped.

Its also a lesson on why we do not need to limit magazine sizes. When you are engaging an outlaw with a tremendous amount of firepower, the armed citizens need to have the capacity to fight back.

Its also a lesson on why gun control doesnt work. It was illegal for this guy to purchase a weapon, but big government failed to stop that from happening.

Thank God we had an armed citizen nearby to stop this.

The hero that stopped the shooting was also an NRA-certified instructor.

You know, the "terrorist organization" NRA.

No issue with his protest, just would have been better to not disrespect others in the process.

He honestly answered you. Something. Doesn't matter if it makes a real difference or not something should be done.

One of the key differences between conservatives and leftists is the left's constant search for a placebo. Obama's failed stimulus. Obamacare. The proposals made by this moronic Congressman. They don't care if they aren't going to work.....by George they did something and that's all that counts!

No kidding. Just pass another law. Maybe we should pass one just like the law that makes Heroin illegal, you know, because that law has stopped all Heroine from being in the US...........

Just looking for his 15 minutes of fame.........doesn't care that what he wants would have prevented zero of this from happening.....he's in the spotlight!

A co-worker was telling me about superdouche Gary Parrish on local radio yesterday. Sports columnist and liberal idiot with a sports talk radio show that he goes off on political tangents. According to GP the guy in Texas shot up the church with an "AR five five six".

Yet another liberal fool who thinks they're smarter than everyone else. Oh, and this guy wont take callers to refute him.

What a tool. He didn't walk out because he "can't take it anymore," he walked out because it was a moment of silence for Christians. Had that been a mosque the deranged shooter shot up, he'd probably still be having a moment of silence.

To be fair to GP, who I can't tolerate listening to, the rifle used is indeed called an AR-556, Ruger's branding for an AR-15. It's an outstanding entry level rifle for the price.

Exactly.

Placebo politics is all the leftists have.

Here's a suggestion to the "WE HAVE TO DO SOMETHING!!" crowd - hows about telling the effin' federal government to do their damn jobs. That very likely could have prevented at least five of these mass shootings. How about we start there before you bastards try to strip away Constitutional rights from law-abiding American citizens?
