Pastner maybe not so squeaky clean
Not sure if this guy has an ax to grind against Pastner or if Pastner isn't as clean as he leads everyone to believe:

Isn't this maniac on this board?

I mean the guy who reported this stuff.

I am pretty sure this is the twitter guy that was always so pro-Pastner.

So much so he continued to "befriend" him after he went to GT.

Total psycho.

Not unlike some others here.

It is naïve to think the same thing wasn't happening at Memphis. Calipari leaves, guts the program, and yet we still land 2 McDonald's All americans (One from Baltimore, the other from Atlanta) and no one questions how that got done.

But wait....I thought Gary was a Pastner apologist and had an ax to grind with Tubby because he can't get "access" to a program that is preseason 130-150.

Clearly someone has an agenda.

Here comes the NCAA, again.

Poor Tubby. I bet he wishes daily he never left Lubbock.

RE: Pastner maybe not so squeaky clean
This was.....interesting:

Asked if he ever provided impermissible benefits to a Memphis player, Bell said he sent "about $300" in gift cards to Markel Crawford "for groceries." Bell provided a document to CBS Sports that shows he also sent a pair of Nikes to Crawford last February, during Tubby Smith's first season at Memphis, that cost $117.99.
"Markel has had a rough life," Bell said.

This is an embarrassing mess for the Memphis and Georgia Tech programs.

If you stopped reading GP's articles in 2014 you would think that. After that he was far from an apologist. Also, he did mention Markel getting the shoes last year.

GP just skull drugged two major programs. His agenda is clear. He's nice to you when he needs you. Otherwise you are fair game.

No coach should trust any member of the media. It's simple. They aren't you friends.

The guys last name is Bell and Bell literally said that Josh "saved my life" when Bell was drug addicted. Even after Bell relapsed and went to prison and Josh stood by him -- now he comes out with this? True or untrue - pretty shaty thing to do IMO.

Or maybe coaches shouldn't cheat.

Perhaps, but he isn’t cheating to win. Pastner cheated, and still accomplished nothing more than a couple of 1st round NCAA wins.

Pastner was a fraud. His players knew he was a fraud, and down deep, he knew he was a fraud.

Or you shouldn't let your runners get close to local media. Or maybe your runners shouldn't be former drug addicts.

I think everyone "cheats".

Why would I be mad at GP? That's his job.

Doesn't mean Tubby or Josh should be close to him.
