If Bowen is as shrewd as I think he is then when we have another opening he will undoubtedly sell this job as a springboard to a huge P5 paycheck. That will help him attract the best and brightest of the upcoming young coaches.

Do we really want someone whose only purpose for being here is to use us as stepping stone for something better. Or do we want someone here who wants the job and wants to see Memphis continue to excel?

Yes. Any coach who is worth their salt wants to win championships. At this point it is impossible to win a championship at Memphis. So, if they can win big, and enough, they will get picked up by a team that can win a championship. It is what it is.
A kangaroo can jump closer to the moon than a frog.

No school outside of the SEC big 6 has won a championship in football in 50 years, much less a national championship.

So theoretically its possible, but realistically. Nah.

Well yes, but if UFC or SMU or Memphis had gone undefeated this seaon, would any of those 3 been ranked in the top 4 and made it to a playoff? Nope. At best we might be top 10 and not even sniff the playoffs. So you are right on, theoretically yes, realistically impossible.

Very few people actually understand this point.

AMAZING posts and insight here..... Very few do understand the “Truism” in Memphis being the path of least resistance to a NC than 60%> of ALL P5 programs! It’s a tremendously intriguing dialectic that WE ALL hoped that Fuente would realize, once WE started to understand the TRUE potential of this program!

Now we have Norvell in the catbird seat.... I’m convinced that Norvell is in better position than EVEN Fuente was, to a certain extent(will explain in detail as season comes to a close). Also, Norvell is getting more with less.... Players that we thought were going to have MAJOR impacts to this season have been removed for obvious reasons and there has been MINIMAL drop off/repercussions....That being said,Norvell can maintain and EVEN SUPERCEDE this level of success while getting the production from half a team or more of underclassmen! This is the determining factor that could keep an ENTITY such as Norvell, here at Memphis for more time than minions realize that’s even possible... As EVERYONE bets and prognosticates from trends or “the norm”!

At some point, Memphis will be that DYNASTY that shakes up the landscape.... what MOST don’t or didn’t realize.... that time is NOW!!!!

My son thought that this team may lose 1 game..... my preseason prediction was that this was the #UNBLEMISHED17 meaning that we would not lose ANY games this year.....Am I disappointed? No, I was after UCF! But by the way this team bounced back, showed what I was realizing all along... With all starters healthy, this IS an UNBLIMISHED team! And the way this team came back from adversity shows that MEMPHIS is gonna be in the mix for the foreseeable future!

Unblimished this year! 50% chance we’re in the playoffs! Maintain this level of success and they won’t be able to keep us out of the playoffs or THE P5 for that matter! And imagine the recruits.... We could go toe 2 toe with 85% of the programs in 2-3 short years!!!! At that point and EVEN now.... the Memphis job is better than 85% of ANYTHING ELSE if NOT 100% because of the Job Security.

Norvell stays because he realizes the Magnitude that few others understand!!!!! No matter how hard you try,.....

ENJOY THE RIDE, h8ers

You folks are a bunch of miserables. We still have a shot at a National Championship if some of you will just let Coach Tubby do his work in peace.

GTG! Beat Bama!
