Our wins this season have exceeded my low expectations. Glad to see the JC players getting better and a few younger guys stepping up. Winning is fun. Here's hoping we win at least 4 more times and who knows...
Still very concerned about recruiting and our SOS.

That's a smart prediction and absolutely underscores the idea this team didn't "overachieve." Most people who follow Tigers' basketball knew (even in the beginning of the season) this team would be good enough (for the most part) to win vs. garbage teams, lose to good teams, and have a head scratcher balance out the upsets.

The biggest "surprise" wins were vs. SMU and Temple and @Uconn.

Obviously, Temple wasn't really a very good team and SMU was a shell of what they were in the early season. UConn is just in shambles.

The worst losses, @ECU and at home to USF were inexcusable.

I didn't foresee the injuries or the luck...lol

Truthfully, I underestimated the competitive nature of our players, how nicely Martin would step-up his game and Tubby's coach-em-up talents.

There are different reports on who is actually coaching each one up, but this team has exceeded expectations.

I'm thinking this is how it will be the whole time Tubby is here. Just kinda average...

Every team has injuries. It's part of the game.

No excuses.

Only SMU should get a pass, because the NCAA.

Everyone has different expectations...So according to you the didn't overachieve but you were on edge of the bell curve with your predictions.

According to the average of what people and media predicted wouldn't you say this team achieved above that...That is what everyone is pointing to the general feeling about this team prior to the season.

You cant say this team didn't overachieve to everyone based on your expectations that would be a statement that should only apply to you. Based on all evidence that is out there the general consensus is that this team did overachieve.

The only people who accurately predicted what this team would do are the ones who said they had no idea what this team would do, and that's still the case, unfortunately. I don't think I've ever seen back to back games that looked as dissimilar as the last two did. Hope the beat-the-crap-out-of-them team shows up in Orlando, not the deer-in-the-headlights one.

Yea I predicted it dead on the nose, but of course it was just a guess because I didn’t even know who the players were and pretty much still don’t.. I’m gonna say 1-1 in the Tourney, The Tubster will get his 20 wins and end the season 20-13.. I have seen all the AAC teams play this year and their are some really weak teams in it.. The OOC schedule was abysmal..

Uhm.....if you don't recruit a bench to replace your starters, the injuries make a much worse impact.

When you have a team with holes certain teams are bad matchups especially if you team doesn't defend or rebound well on the defensive end.

At least if they were a good defensive team if someone was able to exploit their weaknesses on offense they could stay in the game.

Just like Tubby's.

When they get worked up, they talk in circles.

Yep, if a team hits threes and gets offensive boards, we're toast.

The optical disconnect is all of those media predictions that put us in the 9th-12th slot, and which were posted here time and time again. To be down there, you have to finish multiple games below .500 in conference. So when we indeed finish 5th and above .500, it sure feels like overachievement. Granted, it shouldn't - but it does.

No one in the media really predicted overall record they predicted conference finish and I would think most coaches have some idea what their competition is returning and they picked us 9th. So yeah overachieving would be a valid statement based on preseason expectations.

Overachieving based on program expectations...Far from that.
