Tiger Fan Challenge - SMU Attendance Goal
Hasn’t this football season been a blast? A dedicated fan base can keep this momentum going regardless of who our coach is.

I’d like to challenge all Tiger football fans to consider this:

Tickets to the SMU game can be bought at a very low cost.

If you have the means to buy extra tickets to the SMU game please do and give them away to someone you know will attend the game. People at work, neighbors, your church, youth athletic teams, your kids friends, etc.

It would be fun to keep this post updated with MTO members who accept the challenge and update everyone on how many tickets they sponsor and who they gave them to.

I’ll start by committing to 4 SMU game tickets that I will purchase above my current tickets to give away.

Filling the LB for SMU will show the country Memphis is serious about being one of the top programs in college football.

We as fans have to Step Up and make it happen. This is what big time aspiring programs do.

Every University of Memphis fan can make a small difference which will lead to great things in the present and future.

An extra purchase of 2 tickets doesn’t cost any more then going out to lunch/dinner yet it can make a huge impact on the future of Tiger football.

I will buy two SMU game tickets and give them away. I do not know where yet ( it depends on what I can afford) and I need to see how to distribute since I live outside Memphis. PM me if interested. First come, first serve....

Be great to have 50k plus there. Can celebrate a division title with a lot of Memphis players too. And SMU being good will make it that much more satisfying if our kids can win it.

We'll grab an extra few. Will give them to some of my youngest daughter's school friends.

There are a decent number of SMU alums here so I expect them to bring a good crowd

Please. They couldn't draw 20K last night for their biggest game in 30 years.

Hoping for the 230 kickoff slot. This will be our maximum attendance tv slot if the weather cooperates. Should find out by Tuesday.

I believe this Tuesday. They usually set times like 12 days out. I believe the networks can wait until game week one time to set kickoff times.

Sad that a team that is 8-1, ranked in every poll there is, has to hope for the perfect setup to get a good crowd, but I agree with you that is what it will take. All the people that stay home when it is a little cold or wet or the wrong time of day or ticket price too high, can thank themselves when we are looking for a new guy. Those are usually the first people to *****.

Yeah, I was there for the two rain games this year, but a lot of folks were not. There is such a ting as a "fair weather fan" and those two games proved it.

Yeah, I know what you are saying. It took me years to realize when you are on this board, you are not talking to every person in Memphis. Far from it. I learned that when I would meet a tiger fan that I had more than just a couple of sentences of interaction, I would ask them if they were on the board. WAAAYYYY over 3/4 of them don't even know there IS an MT.org.

Yup. Any more to the point, most everyone who is on here isn't a fence sitter about going to the games. So imploring people who are goofy enough to create an account and come to a message board devoted to Tigers' athletics seems a bit of a waste of time.

Well, but there ARE those here who DON'T go to games. Interesting you used that term "fence sitter", cuz that's highly accurate.

Great idea,

Do you know what the Athletic Department doing to hype this game?
