RE: CUSA = 5 Bowl eligible with (3) sitting with 5 Wins

These are the number of bowls each conference has. (My opinion of how many bowl eligible teams the conference will finish with)
AAC- 7 (6 eligible)
ACC- 9+ Playoff (8 eligible)
BIG10- 8+ Playoff (7 eligible)
BIG12- 6+ Playoff (6 eligible)
C-USA- 5 (9 eligible)
MAC- 4 (5 eligible)
MWC- 6 (6 eligible)
PAC12- 6 (9 eligible)
SEC- 8+ Playoff (9 eligible)
Sun Belt- 6 (5 eligible)
I don't think the AAC, ACC, BIG10, BIG12, and Sun Belt will be able to fill all of their bowl spots. While C-USA (4 extra), MAC (1 extra), and the PAC12 (3 extra) appear to be set to finish with more bowl eligible teams than they have ties for.
If this is similar to how the season finishes, it will be interesting to see where our teams get placed. What an interesting football season.
We have Rice, Charlotte, UTEP, and ODU to thank for that!

You misunderstand. C-USA has 5 bowl ties this season, but will likely finish with 9 bowl eligible teams. Meaning C-USA should finish with "4 extra" bowl teams.

I think you misunderstood what I meant. The reason we will have so many extra bowl eligible teams is because we have 3 or 4 teams that are much weaker to a point that others just collect Ws from them

Florida State is trying everything possible to keep their bowl streak in tact but you can’t blame them at the same time. Speculation/rumors that FSU is now trying to reschedule their week 2 matchup with UL Monroe that was cancelled due to Irma. FSU will have an open date championship weekend while ULM’s last game is 11/25. FSU is currently 3-5 with upcoming games against Clemson, Delaware St and Florida. Should UL Monroe agree to the makeup game FSU could possibly get 6 wins and a bowl.

North Texas has not played three of those teams, and ODU gave us a tough game. They have three wins. I wouldn't quite put them in the same category as the others. Some of the other G5 conferences have 0 win and 1 win teams too. I think most of the reason for the extra bowl teams comes from the fact that our better teams keep knocking each other off. At this point C-USA is the only G5 conference without a 7 win team. Aside from FAU and to a lesser extent North Texas, there is just too much parity among the better teams in each division. It is almost certain that the winner of the Shula Bowl will host North Texas in the C-USA Title Game. When have the divisional titles been this close to being set by week 10?

WKU wins at least one of those. I know this Hilltopper team isnt as good as in years past, but I refuse to believe they wont achieve at least bowl eligibility. I am conditioned to believe that way at this point.
Talent wise this Western team should be playing for a 3 peat early Dec. Any hire that did not come in and want change every little thing. Western is sitting at 9-0, 8-1 and at the very worse 7-2 with a good spread offensive coach.
We have a offensive genius (at least that's what he was called) that is letting a first time OC that has never called a game before this season..
set this offensive back to 2010
Western will be hard press winning another game. To be honest as a fan I'm ready to be done with this season.

It could be fun if ODU and Middle are both sitting at 5 wins and playing for the right to a bowl game. Don't think it will happen, especially with ODU having to play FIU. But still a fun thought.

RE: CUSA = 5 Bowl eligible with (3) sitting with 5 Wins
The good news for CUSA this year is that the bowl slots that are likely to be open set up well for our footprint and the teams that are eligible or likely to be. With Frisco, HoD, and Armed Forces in play for our Western teams, and Bahamas, Boca, Gasparilla for Eastern, as well as a likely slot in Independence, this could be a best case scenario year for CUSA bowl season.
