Rest baby!
It’s all about the rest

The offense did a great job with long drives in the 2nd half. We have playmakers on D but they are young. Keep them fresh in the 2nd half and watch the magic happen.

I couldn't believe that stat they put on the screen about us being tied for 2nd in the country in takeaways. Way to go boys! Quietly getting better on the defensive side, especially after the half.

Barely heard TJ Carter's name mentioned tonight, broke up a pass, made a few tackles ... but ultimately, I think he just threw a blanket over his guy, which doesn't show up in the stat line. #baller

RE: Props to the Defense!!
I hate seeing people trash the defense, especially those that are clueless about the injuries and changes in position. Not to mention how many top rated offenses we have had to play... and especially hold well below their normal offensive production lately.

Given the bye week to heal and get more players ready to play, this defense will just keep getting better. SMU has a good offense, but might be down if they lose two straight!

Where are all those naysayers who said our D was not talented and not athletic and one of the worst D's ever? Oh, yeah, and Chris Ball should be fired??? You know who you are. Raise your hands.

You were flat out wrong. You don't know sh-t about football. You denigrated our players. Own up to it.

Give it up for the D! They played hard! Lots of stamina for the duration of the night!

One of the worse threads going off on the Tiger defense was deleted by mods or i'd bump it to embarrass the poster who started it. I could see the improvement then as well as some other posters, yet just as many posters were calling the defense garbage and the worse in the country.

Anyways, the tiger defense has done a good job for several games in a row now. They still are a work in progress. No doubt they are not dominating, but they are improving. Lots of young players contributing.

I'm thinking he is one of the best freshman dbs out there right now with potential for so much more.

Can't give enough credit to Coach Ball and the other defensive coaches. Outstanding job!

RE: Props to the Defense!!
All the freshman on Defense making big impacts this year bodes well for our future. We have some really good young players.

With Riley, Miller, and several seniors graduating it’s nice to know the future of our defense looks outstanding.

We will need the D to win a few games next year breaking in a new QB.

”D'Angelo Brewer gained 119 yards on 21 carries, but the Golden Hurricane's ground attack was held in check after beginning the day ranked 12th in the nation with 260.2 yards rushing per game.

Chad President's 7-yard touchdown run for Tulsa tied it at 14 just 2:20 into the second quarter, but the Tigers (8-1, 5-1, No. 23 CFP) surrendered just 69 yards of total offense — 32 rushing — over the entire second half.”

Fun to see the young players stepping up to take ownership of their defensive performances.
