something I also miss is the tone and tenor of the old CUSA forum.

I'm not criticizing anyone, nor am I unnecessarily puffing anyone, but that forum was genuinely interesting. intellectually challenging, yet welcoming and engaging.

I miss that forum.

Die.
I would. I'd kick a team out to add you. We should play every year. Pisses me off. You got robbed by those aholes tonight. I hoped hopson would pull the team off the field and load the busses after y'all got jobbed. He went off on the refs and lyle patted them on the back. Been dealing those turds for a long time. Frick em. Not surprised.

RE: to my friends at Southern Miss.
It is a shame Southern is not with its old buddies in Tulane, Memphis, Cincy and ECU.. Similar to how Memphis felt when Cincy and Louisville left for the Big East in 2005. These things happen. All you can do is keep your head up, continue to grow the fanbase and get the donations up, and be ready. This expansion thing is not over yet, and I do believe if Southern Miss can grow the endowment, renovate M.M. Roberts and Green Coliseum, they'll be poised the next time this thing goes around.

yeah..if we could only have a tinker toy stadium like Tulane or UCF...or a 1930's piece of crap like Tulsa...or a couple of winning seasons ever like Temple...then we coulda been, like Marlon Brando said, "a contendah!" 04-cheers

Give me a break...the series between our old rivals, Memphis, ECU and Tulane, was a j-o-k-e joke because USM dominated. MM Roberts WAS renovated, and football is played for wins and losses, not endowments..03-lmfao

Now...I certainly don't blame Memphis or anyone else in the AAC for what happened...we did it to ourselves...but it's funny how we always hear about everything else concerning expansion from our former peers, EXCEPT those wins and losses!

im not fond of reliving those losses but i do miss seeing southern miss beating sec schools and carry the banner for southern independents. i also remember guys like brett farve and louis lipps and southern miss being giant killers.

i figure it will all sort itself out eventually..

I hear what you're saying, I really do. Just an outside perspective. My point wasn't that M.M. Roberts hasn't been renovated/expanded recently, but it was 2008? Upgrades of some or any kind usually need to occur every decade or so, but I root for Southern Miss a lot. Upgrades to the press box and better seating, such as chairback, should be looked at, just my opinion. I am curious if the renovation to the coliseum will occur soon? I liked the renderings I saw a couple years back. Are those still on the table? Is funding in place?
I actually hold season tickets to Memphis football as a native and current resident, but I have a family connection to Jeff Bower, and have always appreciated Southern's success. You guys were doing what Boise did this past decade, since the 1970s.
Would trade y'all and UAB for UCONN and Temple any day of the week, and twice on Sunday.
Good luck to y'all the rest of the way!! 04-cheers
