RE: Even after NIU win, Toledo keeps next game up mentality
I really hope this team watched the OSU game and the comments they attributed to Urban Meyer about keeping an eye on the team after the big win against PSU. He stated he did not see any let down in the team the entire week while preparing for Iowa. Either the team did a great job of acting, Meyer can't get the pulse of his team again this year, or they never felt any sense of urgency. They allowed Iowa to play like champions while they just watched and executed poorly.
If nothing else, it proves that words mean nothing. You can fool yourself that you are ready for the next game, and still not be ready to execute. Once again, we will see if this is a championship caliber team that is ready for every game. I said after the first game that this team will not be a championship team. I rescinded that after the CMU game when I saw how they played in spite of all the injuries. Guys continue to step up.
There will never be acceptable excuses for losing, only reasons for winning.

They didn't even lose close. That's when I start to suspect there's more going on that the eye can see. Team disunity?
