Just chalk it up to incompetence. Pure unadulterated incompetence. In year 11, we have a punt returner fielding punts on the 2 yard line while backtracking. If we can't coach something that basic, I doubt we can make adjustments or analyze QB abilities.
The litany of miscues is my evidence. from punt snaps going off upbacks, to untimely penalties, to fumbling on option pitches, to kicking a FG down 59 to running the ball up the middle to no avail 30 times a game, to the 3 way QB-by-committee disaster to our kicker getting mowed down by his own lineman etc etc etc. The list goes on and on.

At this point, nothing. I am curious about ghosts opinion too.
Bailiff has botched the QB situation so bad already. the time for change and having a plan was 8 games ago. Not hoping that "lightning in the bottle" somehow works and we get lucky.

It assumes both DB and JK are morons and that the two of them believe the BOT/admin and general fanbase are mostly morons. And he's concocted this entire thing because he's a Tyner superfan and his convoluted conspiracy is the only way he can imagine that his favorite QB is not starting.
This is dumb on so many levels.
I think I just got called dumb...
A Tyner fan? Sure... 6'5" 240 pound sideline signaller with a big arm? Who wouldn't be a fan of that?... But... Really all I want at this point.. Is my Quarterback to stop scoring for the other team. Concocted theory or not, that isn't too much to ask. Or is it?
I am also a Tyner fan. But answer my questions, please. What do you want DB to DO? What is he doing or not doing that you want him to change? We have to have a QB. He isn't knocking the ball out of their hands.
Well... I hate to even answer because it literally opens up the whole ABO can again.. But... as for DB and what he can do? Stop Bullsmacking about turnovers--- especially the ones that turn immediately and directly into opponent points. We benched one guy as "ineffective" and he did have some turnovers as I pointed out earlier.. he got BENCHED... It turns out that after what I would at least call equal time of evaluation (the two QB's have played the same amount... Glaesman 4 starts, Tyner 3), that we tolerate turnovers that lead to points and say "we are young and working on it"...
So I guess to the question of what I want DB to do about it I would say, hold the QB accountable. If he can't execute a gameplan without literally scoring at least one TD per game for the other team, then BENCH him. Tyner was no less "young and inexperienced".. And I hate to even go here because I've been called dumb, stupid, and ridiculous, he was clearly not given the leash length of this QB. In one more game (Saturday), the other QB will surpass playing time, snaps, and starts. Let's see if he continues to lead CUSA in scoring for the opponent. Given the lesser of evils, I'll take the turnovers the other team doesn't score on vs. what I've been getting.

Ant, I know you think dumping Bailiff is a cure-all. The sun came up today, again. I want to know what NG wants him to do, NOW, that he isn't doing. Not a question that should be asked three times. I ask that question again and again in response to this portion of post #1:
"Will they actually "do anything" about it or just "keep working on it" (while spotting the opponent 14 a week)?"
I don't know what can be done other than "keep working on it", but it implies there are options other than to "keep working on it" I sure would like to know what they so that I can advocate for them.

RE: ABO not dead?
And don't even get me started on what my opinion of running option with a power Running QB that can also throw a little.... Heck.. Where has that ever worked? Big, physical guy that seems to be of high character, but doesn't have an overly accurate down field arm? Where have I seen that before?
I don't know... Maybe Tebow... (Not saying we have a Tebow, but we never even flinched to consider using the "huge down hill guy" like Tebow)
Note: By option I mean, Speed, Zone, read, Load, Power Read, Counter Read... I certainly do not mean Ken Hatfield Triple.

Can we kill this thread already, or are we going to start a third "ABO" thread?

Since he has answered nothing, I think it is reasonable to assume the answer is nothing left to do but keep on working on it.
The answer could be immediate resignation.

Not much of one. very nonspecific. But quickly, what would Coach NG do when the top three are all benched, as they would be now. Go to the walk ons? Move Austin Walter or Jack Fox to QB? Hold try outs from the student body?

He looked bad in his starts. I thought he would play better. The offense is full of young players. The only upperclassman of significance is Stewart, and he's been hurt all season. The starting QB is a freshman, and he's been out. The offense may be starting to find it's footing. Stewart is back for UAB, so hopefully now we can run between the tackles again.

well..... roughly 70 points for the opponent off of turnovers by the offense for the year.....We've used three QB's...
QB 1 has accounted for turnovers resulting in 50-ish points by the opponent
QB 2 accounted for 21 points by the opponent (on minimal snaps)
QB 3 accounts for 7 points by the opponent off of turnover..........
I guess in the interest of satisfying your quest for specifics, I would bench the two guys who keep getting me beat and try to guy who isn't getting me beat....
I guess maybe I am the crazy one.... What sense do I make after all?

I like Tyner too. I have no objection to DB going back to Tyner. But how did we get only 7 points against Stanford? How did we get only 7 against FIU? How did we get only 84 yards on 16 attempt against UH? What do you do if he is promoted back to #1 and throws two TDs for the other guys? Do you bench him or keep trying to correct the problems?
In any case, I presume Bailiff is still trying to win and the players are still trying to win. That doesn't mean all their choices are optimal, but it does mean they are not in a conspiracy to cover their rears for job security.

RE: ABO not dead?
The offense moved the ball based on improved play calling last week.... Lynch and Beerstoner switched up and suddenly, we establish the jet series.. QB made two really good throws, had a couple decent runs, and one big time scramble... Other than that he had 30-odd handoffs with only one gargantuan blunder and a Pick 6 that ended the game....So the assertion that the "offense has somehow found it's legs" is just dumb....The offense has found Conference USA defenses...
But here's your radio show today.... claiming that the fumble may have had something to do with the shape of the ball... But hey.. Freshmen don't know the way the ball is shaped apparently and have to learn it... Geez... And here I thought we were an institution of higher learning...
I want to be positive... I really really want to be positive... But if you "call me a dog long enough, I will bark and eat Purina Chow"... Call us young and inexperienced enough and that's exactly what we will always be... Zero, none, nada accountability for performance for the "young guys".. And anyone here who thinks my smoke is just smoke, pm me and I'll let you know what I really think...I haven't begun to be upset about what I perceive... But I'll keep it off the board....
