Ethan Ratke question
As we all know Ethan did not play in Saturdays win over SBU. Listening the HCMH after game presser he mentioned that Ethan would be out for a couple weeks. At todays Fan and Press shindig there was no mention of Ethan. Anyone know what is up? I would assume some sort of injury but I do not know.

We are very fortunate to have such an experienced backup kicker in Tyler Gray. He certainly came through in the clutch on Saturday!!

RE: Ethan Ratke question
Seems like it was just about this time last season Tyler got hurt and Ethan stepped in and never gave it up, now we'll see if the same happens with Tyler.

RE: Ethan Ratke question
We sit in 104 right behind where Gray and Ratke usually hang out/warm up. Ratke was in sweats but I didn't notice any braces or limps or anything of the nature. I was wondering the same thing.

It doesn't have to be visible to be a problem. Someone can be out several weeks and not look like anything is wrong with them. Especially with a kicker, something small can have a big impact on their effectiveness.
Perhaps it is something that he could still kick with, but due to the strength of the position, why not force the issue and play the healthy guy?
Times like this prove why having extra kickers on the roster is such a good thing. It truly is a very important part to the game that so many coaches take for granted.

Explains why he signed another kicker for the next class as well (and I've heard he's great).

One of the articles on Rivals has HCMH saying he expects Ratke out for a couple weeks.

RE: Ethan Ratke question
I believe it is a lingering issue and has been bothering him. From what I heard just needed a couple weeks rest to get back to 100% and it’s better to have that happen now than be 75% throughout the rest of the year.
