45 yards

there was the PI penalty as well to kick it all off

James Gardner putting on a receiving clinic tonight for Miami on ESPN2 if anyone is interested in tearing themself away from the World Series.

IIRC, from what I read, GT's offensive domination was something like a Top 10 *all time* performance in rushing ....... in the losing column. You actually have to start digging through decades back in the historical record to find other teams who rang up nearly 700 yards of offense ... and lost. Unfortunately they don't have a statistic for CFITT ... choke fumbles inside the ten. Hell even the damn 2PT conversion they were up 4 to 3 on the Vols right of the hash. Pitch it? Touchdown. Pitch man cracks down? Touchdown. Sprint for the pylon? Probably a touchdown. Tepid jitterbug in the backfield? Loss. Taquon has been doing that tepid jitterbug bull**** since that play btw. I think somebody layed a lick on him and he's scared or it's in his subconscious. He is playing like a player trying to avoid a hit ... not like a player trying to attack.

GT had at least a dozen *easy* plays on offense where simply executing cleanly would have won the TN game. And the Miami game. Hell they could have choked to death on offense and simply DEFENDED THE BUBBLE SCREEN and beat Miami. But no, Ted Roof stood there with his thumb up his *** and Miami ran seven --- SEVEN --- $!#&@&@%r^!#$y SEVEN BUBBLE SCREENS IN A ROW. And every damn one got at least 7 yards.

And that scarcely believable chokefest is the difference between entering the Clemson game 6-0 and ranked in the Top 10 ... and never sniffing the Top 25.

Earlier in the game Ohio got a penalty for having two guys on the field with the same number. First time for everything.

Miami is missing our starting QB, C, S, and now our MLB due to his stupidity. McMullen is a solid player but he may have just cost us the game. We can't overcome these errors with a mediocre coach like Martin.

I actually saw that in another mid-week game.... think it was an early Thursday Sun Belt game.

About time to switch to the World Series...

Miami is about to fall to 1-23 in the last twelve years against our primary rivals, Cincy and Ohio U. 1-26 if you include Marshall, who older fans have more of an "affection" for. How is that even possible? Assuming we lose another game to knock us out of a bowl (almost a certainty, we're in the difficult part of our MAC schedule) it's time to can Martin. I've only known losing as a Miami fan but even this is ridiculous.

LaH ... time to open the liquor cabinet. I know watching that screen get dropped gave me flashbacks of Brad Stewart dropping a screen pass for a clinching first down against Miami.

You should've seen our shenanigans against UC...to celebrate Halloween I'm having a good ol' Schlafly Pumpkin Ale. Tis the season for football mediocrity.

This Miami team is the most talented yet inept team I've ever witnessed at the high school, college, or pro level, and I grew up an Illinois fan during the Zook years. Either way I'm proud of this forum now. I know it's a MACtion thread, but I'm impressed we basically have two pages worth of Miami football talk on a general college football message board.

I *love* getting a CFB game every single night of the week (save Monday, b/c ESPN is a coward to the NFL).

I wish the Sun Belt and C-USA and FCS would hop aboard so I could get this kinda action starting in September.

God I hope C-USA never agrees to a similar deal that the MAC did. Having NO games on Saturdays in November sounds miserable. I hope to never see ODU play a Tuesday/Wednesday game.

A very talented group, but poor discipline, bad coaching moves, no defensive adjustments. Bahl has a good arm, but cannot manage a game and makes dumb decisions. We need an overhaul of the assistants next year. If we don't win 8 games next year, then Martin needs to go too then.

I think a big point is: No more then 2 or 3 weeknight games. When every single one in November is a weeknight game, that's an issue.

I like the exposure, getting the MAC name out, and watching college football during the week, but it does come at a price.

Not sure when the deal ends, but I wouldn't extend it. If it's extended, fire the commissioner. We got the MAC's name out, now either negotiate a better deal, or walk.

The MAC is locked in to this deal for a very long time. Which is a problem since ESPN is in a severe death spiral right now. Maybe when Disney axes them we can get something better.

"Death spiral" is a huge exaggeration. They are shedding subs but they have a long way to go down before there would be another attractive option.

What's up with the color in the Ball State/Eastern Michigan game? On TV, the field looks like it's in black and white?

The turf is literally grey. It's really weird but it actually kinda works for me, especially compared to other non-green playing surfaces.

Toledo with first MAC West title since ‘04 (unless they lose a slam dunk game). They should fill up Ford Field pretty well.

Yeah cann Martin.

You've got the football ops facility now to recruit a better coach.
