Not really. Missouri State is the class of that conference, but the move should help the shockers after a few years.

I'd guess we probably have the strongest SOS in baseball of the conference

RE: ECU 2018 Baseball Schedule
We were excellent in the 80s, 90s and 00s. Steep decline starting with the end of the Gene Stephenson era with exponential downward acceleration under Todd Butler's watch.

It is hard to have much faith in the short term (with Butler at the helm for at least another year), but there are plentiful resources for the next regime once a change has been made.

From what I've heard a lot of WSU aren't happy with their coach. If that was the case in the MVC, he probably won't last very long in the AAC. Their next hire will be the key to bringing back Wichita to its usual baseball self.

Debatable with such a high percentage of home games.

Todd Butler is our overpaid Jeff Lebo.

Any questions?

Yes. Would you consider Jeff Lebo?

We're playing 2 CWS teams (CSF, A&M) and 6 Super Regional teams (CSF, A&M, Kentucky, Vandy, Sam Houston State, Miss. State).

What about ECU?

Only downside of the AAC move. Entrance fee probably got in the way of replacing the baseball coach. Hopefully we'll be able to crawl out of the hole he's digging. The resources are there. It will be harder to get off the mat in the AAC, but easier to regain national relevance.

RE: ECU 2018 Baseball Schedule
That is a very interesting "off-weekend" (now required with an odd # of baseball teams) trip -- at Washington. I confess that I don't really know the quality of their program.

It would be nice to initiate an in-season alliance weekend with at least one of the following conferences who also contain an odd number of baseball programs (in order of preference):
Big 12 (Iowa State has no baseball)
Pac 12 (no Colorado)
Big Ten (no Wisconsin)

RE: ECU 2018 Baseball Schedule
UC announced their schedule today. UC will have a new coach that will hopefully help get things going in the right direction.

UC plays:

at California
at San Diego
at Sam Houston State (super regional team last year)
at Indiana one game (# 2 seed in a regional last year)
Tennessee (3 games at UC)
at Louisville for one game
Kansas at UC for 3 games
Ohio State at UC for one game
