Too bad we can't play them again now. I have a feeling we would beat them this time.

Strictly speaking we could meet them in the NCAA tournament. The instructions to the committee say that such meetings between teams that have met previously in non-conference games should be "avoided" in first round games. However, if we are fortunate enough to make the NCAA tournament, I don't think we would need to think about meeting UK in any early round as they may be "lucky" to make the tournament considering their recent record and the possibility of more to come and if they are "lucky" enough to make the tournament, I imagine their seed will not be very high if they keep on as they are.

If our luck fails, we may encounter them in the NIT.

On the other hand........lol............Savannah St. is at an uncharacteristically high 174, and very likely will be in the NCAA. That's just slightly lower than Georgia Southern, and above upcoming WCU and Troy St.

No, I didn't know that - and are you sure? They show up on about all the bracketology sites I've looked at. (Not every one, but most.) I somehow think they got some sort of waiver, but certainly don't quote me on that. Here's a couple of different 'answers', but I'll leave off all the normal bracketology sites:

Savannah St. ineligible?

Is Savannah St. ineligible? (sample 2)

Is Savannah St. actually eligible?

Seems like I remember us discussing this last Spring, but had forgotten the details. So I really don't know, but since the majority of sites seem to include them as a play-in game, I'm thinking they somehow are eligible. I wrote what I did in the earlier post as I had read it a week or two ago on one of 'those sites', but have no idea which one.

I thought I had read that they ARE eligible, they got some kind of waiver. I'll see if I can find the article again.

New AP poll is out. Surprisingly we got one vote even after the UNCG loss.

Also MTSU, is ranked 24th. Their first ranking in school history. You gotta think Ole Miss will be targeting Kermit Davis in their search for a coach.

We only dropped to fifth in the CollegeInsider poll, largely because the Las Cruces Aggies lost two in a row - and almost 3 in a row.
And I think it's pretty clear we're overrated at that...

Figured that would happen.

Could have been more.

If and I mean if we win the SoCon our loss to the Citadel will cost us a decent seed . A win over Xavier could have offet that some.

But it is water under the bridge now.

We are down to 81 in Kenpom now, UNCG is only a few spots behind us. At one point early in the conference season ETSU had a Kenpom of 56. We've been steadily falling since the home game vs Western.
