I disagree with the last part of your statement. I believe after the Dems lost power in Congress and nobody wanted to work with him because he wouldn't negotiate, his quote was something like I have a pen and phone meaning he would use executive orders to get his way.

Obama was the ultimate trash talker, always insulting the motives of his opponents. His comments weren't as personal as Trump's, but every bit as insulting and really more broadly insulting than Trump's. He consistently insulted anybody who didn't agree with him. He wasn't called the "Divider-in-Chief" for nothing.

I thought the OP didn't want debates. He just wanted us a chance to vent.

"‘We’re gonna punish our enemies and we’re gonna reward our friends who stand with us on issues that are important to us"

American citizens became Obama's enemies. That pretty much tells you everything that you need to know.

Bush 43 was divisive only because 1) Democrats never accepted losing (sound familiar) and 2) policies. He was enormously popular right after 911. Obama was divisive because he was a rude, arrogant, condescending jerk who never tried to be president of all the people. He came in with a great deal of goodwill and quickly destroyed it.
