Ok ok ok.. You've convinced me
Neely's Ghost is done.. I'll drop the ABO talk... It's probably just a paranoia.. I'm now going to turn my attention to supporting this group as much as I can for the remainder of the season and turn our attention to the future when the time is right.
No more conspiracies.
I am excited that the kids showed fight. I think the QB choice has promise but has to take care of the ball... I think the offense is really an awesome fun scheme that will be fun to watch matriculate over the next decade....
(Most of those statements are true)...
But, I think I beat a horse that has been amply beaten on this board and I shouldn't contribute to the berating of professionals who are working hard to do what they think is in the best interest of the program. Even if it serves their self-interest, who am I to begrudge.
Football is hard... It's hard to win... I have enough problems with my football investments abroad. I'm certainly no expert.
To the players, keep battling and fighting...
To the coaches, keep the main things the main things... Just use your platform to make great kids better and do right by the kids... all the kids... It's still about education and kids in the end..
Good luck to the Owls and Neely's Ghost is always watching...

RE: Ok ok ok.. You've convinced me
Neely --- the major issue I have with the ABO is that it *is* inherently unprovable. I have no problems with you making statements about it -- its a free country, and it is an opinion on a subject that is common to the threads in this board (aside from the pigsty mudpit of the Political Forum, that is).
The only issue is that the statements you make are inherently unable to be proved (unless you are JK); that is why I was loathe to go deeper on my fears that Bailiff will be retained -- the scenario I put forth has some underlying logic *but* in the scope of things I cannot prove those points in any way, shape, or form, *and* is somewhat not 'straight line' in scope. So I was very generalized in my prediction of a Bailiff retention.
My talking about that scenario makes it no more possible or probable. So I deliberately did not go into why I have my somewhat high expectation (20 per cent) that Bailiff could be retained with anywhere between 1 and 3 wins.
Don't feel that you are being stifled, nor feel the need to curtail yourself. Just be aware that when you put out an idea of *why* something is that is quite radical, be prepared for some sarcasm in return.
Be good sir.

Tangtonic.... Don't misunderstand me.. I do not think the boards have tried to make me feel stifled at all. In fact, I am absolutely amazed and shocked that the "ABO" theory has picked up this much traction... I just have an alarm for "BS", and that alarm sounded loudly in the first half of the season. Maybe as time passes, my alarms and theories will either be proven false or proven. No need to go into what specifically those "actual alarms" are or were. I think time will prove them to be of (at the very least) some merit. but thanks for the shout out.. Carry on...

I think it important to always remember that while many of us do have SOME insight and are happy to share it, we can't possibly know all that would need to be known to draw conclusions.
It SEEMS some way, and that may be a logical inference and thus certainly appropriate to speculate upon and be discussed/debated... but it doesn't make it a FACT... and especially on a Rice forum, there WILL be debate
