I just don't see Middle Tennessee making ANY bowl this season. As of this writing we are sitting at 3-5. We have some crappy teams remaining to play (except for WKU), but we are just as crappy as those teams are.

I was not impressed by the Arizona bowl at all. They actually had our name wrong on half of their merchandise (Southern Alabama). That's the one trip I would not make if we somehow manage to make a bowl.

But I doubt CUSA will have any teams with 8 or more wins!

I doubt it. CUSA is going to have 6 win teams left out this year. Only 6 bowls and they may have 9 or 10 eligible. Probably multiple 6 win CUSA teams left out.

My early read:

Assuming ULL fails to reach 6 wins, New Orleans probably takes the winner of AState/Troy on Dec 2nd. The loser of that game probably swaps with App and takes the Montgomery spot, with App heading to Mobile. That leaves Georgia State and either USA/NMSU if they get there, battling for Orlando and Tuscon. (If NMSU gets eligible, they go straight to zona)

If the Cajuns figure out how to get to 6 wins, they'll go to New Orleans. The Troy/AState winner probably goes to Mobile, with the other going to Montgomery. App goes to Orlando and Georgia State to Arizona (USA/NMSU likely not eligible in this scenario)

There is a small possibility that an App could lose their way into Arizona, but it's not likely given they'd certainly outdraw Georgia State wherever they go.

The only thing I am fairly confident of at this point is that App will not go to Montgomery for a 3rd straight year. I know AState went to Mobile for 4 straight years, but that was mostly in an era in which the SBC had 2 bowl tie ins, so it's not like there were a lot of choices...

I don't think USA is going bowling, but it all depends on which team shows up. If we lose this week to Louisiana, we are not going bowling. We will lose to Ark State, hopefully we won't have a 4th quarter meltdown. Maybe Georgia Southern at their place gets their one win against us, being they fired their coach. Final game at New Mexico State is a toss up. We have to win 3 of the next 4.

If you guys wanted to get your meltdown out of the way in say the first or second quarter and let us cruise, we wouldn't complain.

I think ULL/USA loser is out of a bowl, ditto for ULL/NMSU loser, and USA/NMSU loser.

The SBC will be getting NIU this season. Toledo is likely to get pinned against an AAC team.
