Oh and I would throw in your group a 1 loss non champ SEC team(Alabama or Georgia).

Clemson needs to be rooting for VaTech this weekend vs. Miami...and for Auburn to keep winning. Imagine if Auburn loses to TAMU, Georgia, and Alabama this month!!! They'd be 7-5...unranked...and Clemson would be left with a quality win over VaTech...and that's it!!! Add that to their "bad loss" to Syracuse and it's a lousy resume.

It's really funny for Clemson with this weekends Va Tech/Miami game. I get why you say what you said Clemson should be rooting for Va Tech. But I could make a case that they should be rooting for Miami. A 11-0 Miami in the ACC title game makes Clemson near a lock if they beat them and finish at 12-1. I don't know that you can say the same about a 11-1 Va Tech team.

Top 4 should be

Alabama, Georgia, Notre Dame and Ohio State

So if it was these 4, who gets which semi final bowl?

I'd guess-
Alabama/Notre Dame in Sugar
Georgia/Ohio St in Rose

My gosh that would be crazy.

OU is quietly having things go there way. Ohio State's miracle rally preserved their "best win" credential, and Iowa State beating TCU made their one loss look a lot better.

If OU keeps winning, and they have at least 3 big games ahead of them, and Ohio State keeps winning, OU is going to be hard to keep out of the playoffs.

It could very well come down to two spots for ACC champ one-loss Clemson, Big 12 champ one-loss OU, and one-loss Notre Dame. That would be a VERY tough call for the committee to make.

Could very well come down to SOS/best win/worst loss, so if you are ND and OU, you want teams like Ohio State and Georgia to keep winning.

UGA one loss in the SEC title game and ND one loss would be the toughest call, that's why ND needs a three way tie to avoid getting eliminated by UGa H2H. If you get:

Bama 13-0
UGA 12-1
OSU/OU/ND/Clemson one loss

I'd be at a loss. I'd go Bama vs #4 OU (Sugar) and ND vs UGA rematch (Rose). I don't think OSU and Clemson have enough quality wins compared to ND and UGa and the Big 12 title game will help OU.
