Terrific culture and fan base... They still sold out jack trice for 2 win teams. They believe they can win and hes making that 3 star talent into 4 star reality. Good for Campbell. Worked under him as a student. Plenty of friends on their staff... They could win the BIG12!

They have a great fan base win or lose.

Yes they do. Congrats to Coach Campbell on the win over TCU. Big win! My chiropractor (former player for Iowa State ) is a happy guy right now.

So some coaches that leave the MAC to bigger conferences do pan out well. Doeren, P.J., Urban Meyer, Dino Barbers etc.,

PJ very much 'to be determined', I'd think.

He's 1-4 in Big 10 play right now, with his only win over a horrible Illinois team.

Likely goes 1-3 the rest of the way to finish 2-7 in Big 10, and 5-7 overall.

Sure it's year one, but Minny finished last year 10-4, including a bowl win. Fans gonna be none too happy if they miss a bowl game, and he could easily just muddle along in the middle of the Big 10 forever.

Will be interesting to see where he's at after year 3.

That is why they call the MAC the cradle of coaches. Saban, Pinkel, Parsegian, Bo, Woody, etc... Many more I'm probably missing. Would love for the MAC schools to make a commitment to keep our good coaches a little longer. Would make us a much more competitive conference. Hate it when a young coach catches fire and is snatched up right away.

PS- good luck to you guys this week! Looking forward to a great game. Much respect for your program, and as a west division rival!

Go Rockets!!! Go MAC!!!

Campbell has a 9 million dollar buy out clause for this year. Whoever signs him has to pay ISU the remaining dollars on his contract through '21 and that's the 9 mill.

Cradle of coaches is Miami Ohio not the whole MAC but I agree with you on everything else.

Surprised Rod Carey wasn't on that list.
Just joking.

to some BIG BOY programs like Nebraska or Florida 9 million is chump change.
