RE: Is it fair to make Ball State football play on short rest twice?
They are playing Toledo on the same number of days of rest. And they are getting a full 5 days of rest after the last game concluded and before the next one starts. Toledo picks up a couple of hours as a result of having a noon game last Saturday. As far as the end of the season for Ball State - it will give them a chance to give 2nd and 3rd teams more playing time since they will not be playing for a title or a bowl game.

Either way - these Maction on ESPN still sucks for the schools and their fans, but not for the football hungry fans across the nation (maybe a few thousand in each state) that get to watch a game or two during the workweek. They will at least get a chance to see Woodside and others perform - players they hear about but rarely see in action. Kind of like the old days when there was maybe 2 games on national TV each week. I got to see guys like Rex Kern, Jack Tatum, and the other super sophs at OSU total of maybe 5 games in their entire careers. Toledo - all I can remember is being able to see the bowl games on TV during the 35 game win streak.

So we have to beat a third string QB on the road.

Seems doable, unless this guy is a hidden gem of some sort

Cool, how was it? Did any natives take interest in our Toledo Rockets?

RE: Is it fair to make Ball State football play on short rest twice?
the short week is kinda dangerous for teams like Ball St. who are beat up and playing guys who aren't really ready mentally or technique wise and in some cases haven't had sufficient rest to fully loosen up their bodies after the previous game. It's a little easier on a team like the Rockets who are deep and play a lot of guys (especially coming off the easy beatdown of Akron), but I saw a bunch of injuries early to BSU. Their QB had what looked like a serious leg injury. Their top player Winbush (who has an NFL career ahead if healthy) was injured. A starting o-lineman went down, etc...
