Tribe's men's hoops hurricane relief exhibition is against ... ?
The NCAA is "allowing" schools to play an extra exhibition game this year with proceeds going to hurricane relief.

It would be a great way to bring an ACC school .... or Richmond .... or ANYBODY to the Hall for a good OOC home exhibition game.

Is it being considered?

Given how the last basketball thread went and the misreading of the subject matter, I'll say that we face Purdue on Nov 4th. Unfortunately, we will schedule the game for the same time as the football game that afternoon which will cause us to blame the students for not attending both games.

On a serious note, it sounds like a nice idea if enough schools get behind it, it could raise some money for relief efforts.

VCU playing Liberty. I think it's a great way to get an early test that doesn't hurt you.

Purdue is already doing it ... playing Indiana State at Mackey, prior to the home football game against Nebraska.

I would like to see any exhibition game. When's the last time we've had one?

We pretty much always have a secret scrimmage type of thing, I wanna say we played Navy last year?

To me, the obvious choices would be Richmond or Norfolk State -- keeps travel cost and time minimal, and they're not already on the OOC schedule. (And since VCU apparently is already taken).

I am worried no one wants to play us period. Richmond seems like the best fit left since we do not want to play ODU since we are already playing them in Nov.

May be good that we don't have Liberty on the schedule this season. They put a whipping on VCU, in their Relief Scrimmage, last night in Richmond.
