Charity basketball game at Tudor tonight
BTW, it was a fun atmosphere at Tudor tonight with the UT/A&M exhibition men's basketball game. UT won by 4 but A&M made it a game late. If you combined the two teams, you'd have a really good team. A&M's inside game is decent, and UT's guards are solid (and their freshman center Bamba is going to be an absolute stud).

Crowd was listed at 2000 but it was loud. It would be nice if we could generate that type of atmosphere at all of the Rice games too.

I did see a Rice women's basketball player on crutches unfortunately. I think it was Kendall Ellig?

Aggies starting PG is suspended for 5 games. I'm assuming he didn't play.

I hope they raised a bunch of money. Going against the WS didn't help

#0 is Jay Jay Chandler. The expected starting point guard is JJ Caldwell, #4. He's the no. 5 rated PG nationally per some rating services. Caldwell did not play per the box score.

There were a few kids in the game that Rice targeted at some point. I think we were Mo Bamba's 4th or 5th offer back in 2014 before he blew up, and Jase Febres took an unofficial here before he got more notoriety. Rhoades was also the first to offer A&M's Savion Flagg back in 2015 before he got big.

Yes, fun atmosphere. I think it shows what Tudor can be like with just a few thousand in there. Very fun environment.

Mea Culpa. Don't know how I can confuse Jay Jay Chandler and JJ Caldwell.

The highlight of the game was the National Anthem sung by Marissa Topolski...She was great and has really been an asset to the soccer team when healthy.

Not to be confused with former Rice player JJ Polk, who was also there last night.

Sounds like a dy-no-mite game!
Was Jimmy JJ Walker there?

Houston Grand Opera on Friday had the National Anthem sung by one of the opera singers for the opening night. Everyone stood.

Yes I was going to add that Topolski did a very nice job. Governor Abbott did not stand for the anthem though 05-stirthepot

(I know, I know - I couldn't resist).

Slightly off topic, but Rhoades' VCU team lost an exhibition against Liberty by 16 today. Doesn't mean too much, but that's still gotta make some fans nervous.
