Probably something to the effect "he died doing what he loved" or "...what he wanted to do" would have been more tactful than saying he knew what he was getting into, when talking to a grieving widow.
Not a big issue in the greater scheme of things, IMO.

Yup... Just put out a statement saying I'm sorry if my words on the call missed the mark, I was trying to honor a great sacrifice and failed to communicate that point. My prayers and throughts are with the family as they deal with such a loss.
This is what I am saying. From what I understand, the White House staff hurriedly gather all the information for Trump to make the calls. He may have been less prepared to do these calls while calls he made earlier he was prepared. Trump should have taken the high road from the get go, and just ignored the Congresswoman. Than, it would not have been escalated further.
