Like I said before, it takes a special kind of person to attack a kid's dream just because YOU think they don't have a shot.

These kids are doing the equivalent of taking an internship at a top Fortune 500 company, and Mullet would prefer they take a management position at Wal-Mart.

Sure, it pays decent money. But no one is getting to the top of your profession by settling for the money. No one.

They might have a 5 % chance of making it into the league, but it's a better shot than going to Europe first. You get lost in the mix when you do that.

The NBA doesn't come searching for guys like that when they're 26 years old. They have kids in their system they've invested time and money in, and would definitely rather "hire from within". That's the benefit of having a farm team in the first place.

Personally, I don't give a damn where they play. I don't care if they play in the NBA "Z" league if there was one, or if they play professionally in some Cambodian basketball league that looks like a mix of Canadian football and Pakistani cricket. Who the freak cares.

They're professionals now regardless. They're following THEIR dream, living their life, and clearly enjoying it. For a grown man to get on a message board and crap on that is beyond my understanding.

Being a condescending know-it-all (who really doesn't know anything) is a lousy way for someone to live his life. Yet you don't hear us telling Mullet how to live his.

Oh wait I just did. Oops.

RE: Flemmings, Ingram Selected In NBA G League Draft
I would rather see a guy make some money while they play a game they clearly love. They have a very small window of time to make the money and playing in the G League is cutting into that time. Maybe they get picked on a 10 day if they are really, really lucky but doubtful. Nothing wrong with getting paid. I am not crapping on a dream and these guys are making the calls on what they want to do-good luck to them.

No, they really can't. The NBA doesn't just wait for guys like that.

Europe will always be there for them to make the money if they so choose . It doesn't work out the other way around.

Total BS-every year guys come out of college just like these 2 and they need to strike whiie the iron is hot. If they go to another league and do well the NBA will be watching and if not they can forget about it. Wash out of the NBAG and you can get a job pumping gas. Euro leagues provide these with a chance to make a really good living and have the experience of a lifetime not wasting away in Iowa making $12K and fighting for PT. You don't have a clue about this, just flat wrong.

Where do you get your facts from? This is absurd. Name one person who has graduated (4+ years of college ball), gone to Europe, and then back to the NBA? Name one, we'll wait.

Gary Neal played three years in Europe before returning to play in the NBA.

I should also add that I find it amusing that you guys are insinuating that these players' UNCW experience qualify them to either play basketball or pump gas -- I guess the UNC in your name means something.

I stand corrected. Thank you for sticking up for the Mullet. Gary Neal. So there's one. While I only asked for one, I am corrected. It has happened.

Is that the norm though? No. And I still won't fault these guys for taking a shot at the NBA before anything else.

Thanks for the one name.

Additionally, the only GUY here insinuating that is Mullet.

P.S. Mullet didn't even attend UNCW and is only on this board because he lives in the local community and enjoys torturing us with his presence and claims of being a "fan".

Alex Riley tweeted this last night, so it appears to be true.

CJ Gettys is playing in Europe, successfully. You will recall that The Mullet saw Gettys in the mall and concluded that he looked astonishingly "white", and therefore he had no future.

Chris is more naturally tanned. So his European future must be in the bag....

I did say that and man the guy should have been at the beach a little bit here. I understand he spent all of his time here conditioning so it makes sense he would look like a snowman.
They can both make some money playing and I hope they both play as long as possible.

Chris seems like a guy that might have a string of years in the G league, and hopefully grow into better things from there (think Danny Green, UNC's 6th man from a team loaded with talent). He has a lot of potential, and hopefully catches fire with the right squad.

I'd think he's need to eat a few more sammiches to have any success. I'd think he'd get pushed around a bit with his body makeup from last year.
