The so called "Rivalry in Dixie" matchup
Well, after waiting this entire season the Baton Rouge Advocate, Louisianas most widely circulated newspaper, has finally mentioned todays game. Their sports section this morning consisted of 16 pages and they were able to find a three inch column under "capsules" in which the La Tech-USM game was mentioned. Wasnt identified as Rivalry in Dixie though but I am sure thats because they know everyone throughout the South is familiar with that and anxiously awaiting the game. Have confirmed that LSU is NOT changing their game time as rumored, they will kickoff at same time as scheduled and take their lumps as they are sure most eyes will be directed to Dogpatch.

Man, you really had to reach to find a new idiotic criticism. What, exactly, is your problem?

Most of us deal with state news that focuses on one or two teams in the state that aren't us. How much press are you guys getting in state publications? Blaming Tech for the ignorance and indifference of P5 shills makes you part of the problem. And that rivalry need only mean something to the team and fans involved in it. It obviously means a lot to you to make a thread about it and try to stir up **** on rivalry day. I mean that's what rivalry day is all about.

I know everyone is anxiously awaiting a followup therefore I just checked the Baton Rouge Advocate and they printed TWO, yes TWO, game summary paragraphs this morning in their section that covers the state regional schools.

Unfortunately no (and that comes from someone who was in the newspaper "bidness" for 25 years)...everyone now uses the "internets", where they can make sure the only "news" they read is the "news" they agree with!04-cheers

Thank you for the pick me up. I was bummed about the loss last night but your words have really lifted my spirits. Just the fact that there's someone, such as yourself, whose only pleasure in their most likely unsatisfying and unhappy life is obsessing over ways to tear down a school has reminded me that we all have it pretty dang good. I'm sure this is the sort of response you were looking for but I'm being sincere, thank you for reminding me it was just a football game and I could always be worse off like an internet troll.

Just the way that game finished screams rivalry. Fight to the bitter end. If someone doesn't recognize that it's their loss and their ignorance, and that includes the Baton Rouge paper, although they probably had a lot going on with their prized possession's loss to Troy earlier in the season.
