Mud Island is so underutilized. Great views and endless possibilities, just mismanaged. Should have used all the $$ Benny Lendermon managed to waste on the restaurant and used it on Mud island. That guy should be in jail instead of wasting tax payers money. It is good news he is leaving.

If they would only find a way to make it into a casino. Would bring a lot of money into Memphis

If it were legal to have a casino in Memphis why wait on Mud Island?

It's not legal to have a casino in Memphis but there are ways around that like giving the island to a Native-American group.

I miss the early days of Bud Boogie Beach. Spent a couple summers out there playing volleyball and drinking beer.

I'm guessing that the museum inside mud island is still open. I haven't been there since the 90s.

The aquarium idea doesn't really do much for me. I hope if they do it, they go big and make it different somehow from other aquariums.

I really like the ideas that the Mayor is bringing forward around this and bringing Brooks Art Museum to Front St. You could really spend quite a few days in downtown without leaving which is great from a tourist perspective.

This a good start. The model for Mud Island should be Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen. A mix of cultural attractions including some tastefully done rides

Must've been a while since you were on the Island?
