While you can't compare scores (well, you CAN but that rarely predicts future scores), it does show how penalties, miscues and bone-headed plays severely interrupts an offense.
(For example, a holding call may "only" be 15 yards, but when it usually happens after a 52 yard gain by USM, the result is -67 yards!)

For clarification purpose only, holding is 10 yards not 15. It can however negate a long run or pass
